Just keep applying to various regionals and you will fly jet soon. You have plenty of time (multi time as well). Just be patient:D :D . Very important!!!
Is it true that pinnacle interviw like 30 people and accept 2-3 of them? I was told by a friend. But I think it is bull ****!!! Good luck |

You have enough time to apply at most regionals right now. If you want to fly freight you have enough time to get on with Airnet or Air Cargo Carriers and many more i'm sure. With that amount of time and the hiring that is going on now you should have no problem getting a job. You have a pulse so your half way there.

Samiboy,
There are only 3 regionals you should consider, in no paticular order: 1. Republic/CHQ/Shuttle America 2. Express Jet 3. Skywest All others could be considered if domicle means a lot to you. |

Pinnacle was my first regional interview of about 5 or 6......only one to turn me down....... Trust me, that is the best result you could have gotten..... Go to a quality place listed above..... You have the time.... Just get the interview and good luck.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand circlejerk.

Everybody is hiring so it really depends on where you want to live.
As stated the companies with top contracts AND low upgrade times right now are XJT, SKW & Republic. Eagle's work rules are good and their upgrade time could be coming down significantly You'll probably need to go to a group interview to get a call for SKW. XJT just takes a little time to process your application, I got a call after four weeks. I'm not sure of the timeline with Republic but I don't think you need an internal rec but I'm sure it would speed things up. I'm not sure about the process with Eagle Get your stuff out there and then make your choice |

Best Job to pick:
Company: McDonalds Job: Burger Flipper Location: Any Starting pay is about the same. Progression to Assistant Manager and then Store Manager pays a little less than a CRJ Capt. Prove yourself and wind up owning a store or two within ten years and make more than an AMR 777 Capt at an age well below what his is. |

That lunch hour rush must be a sh!tload of fun.... Oh, I almost forgot the intriguing conversations you will have with your coworkers..... |

XJT may not be so great right now because they could very well send you to LAX or ONT. Not a problem if you live out west and want to commute or already live there with your parents. Otherwise the cost of living will break you quick.
If you don't get your first base choice, folks are getting it within 3 months. |

I'm not so much worried about AWAC not being on his list as his reasoning for those companies he included. Is it solely because of growth?
If so, seven years ago that list likely would have been: 1. Comair 2. AWAC 3. Mesaba If so, three years ago that list likely was: 1. Skywest 2. RAH 3. Pinnacle Amazing how quickly things change.... |

The engineer in me wants to know his rational too now. My guess is that those three has the best blend of growth, pay, and work rules. Everyone else suffers in one of those three areas. Of course they have their weaknesses as well. |
go to Eagle. They'll pay you better in training, they'll treat you better than the other regionals, and you get to pick your base.

Samiboy05 said he wants a "quick upgrade", so unless things start changing at AE, that don't fit the bill. 5 years ain't very quick. |

[quote=BoilerUP;177337]What is quick today won't necessarily be quick one, two, three, or four years from now.
If you look at it that way then everythings a crap shoot. Do you have any evidence to show that upgrade at AE will get any better? |
I think the moral of the story is not to chase upgrade times. They are the most fluid of factors in your career and the only one not contractually mandated. Consider work rules, pay, domiciles(move that first if you have a family), then upgrade prospects (if you consider them at all) in that order which picking a regional.

AA Flowbacks at Eagle are being recalled to mainline, which alone will open up 400+ CA seats in the next couple years. Combine that with normal attrition and the gap in hiring between 2001 and 2004 (or whenever their first post-9/11 newhire class was) and upgrade time at Eagle will likely drop to 4 or less years. |

I'm sure that will free up some seats as you say, but I just always asumed that Eagle was a slower upgrade because of the amount of career captains. I've heard they have quite a few. What do you think?
I've no doubt that with every additional 175 RAH takes delivery of Bedford is gaining at least 3 lifers..if I were 31, had 7-8 years longevity putting me into the top 10% of the pilot group and and was flying the largest and highest paying airframe available, I know I'd be tempted to stay put too! |

As for the fellow who said he would put X-jet at the top, you obviously do not read very well. I said in NO paticular order. |
