Here's another question for the experienced...

I've been hired by this airline with no indication yet of a start date, I meet the mins for several regional airlines but have not interviewed yet. Do I hold out for the PIC turbine time, or hit a regional?

Thanks in advance!

Default Class date

It still could be a few months untill they run another class. I was in the pool for 5 months untill I was called. It's a fun place to work, but time is money! I would try all of my options.

I have to disagree. I think the turbine PIC is good time but you have to consider the aircraft because everyone I have interviewed with sure does. It is good that it is 121 time, I think that is the only real qualifier here, otherwise the time is simply light turbine time.

You need Jet time. Even it is is SIC. You need to get on with a charter operator and get some right seat in a jet. That will mean more to a regional than VFR Dash 6 time.

If you need the total time, then stay. Otherwise, leave and do something worth while.

Just my opinion, feel free to disagree.

Be careful, some airlines have a Weight requirement that goes with the PIC Turbine and depending on the airline, it may be heavier than 12,500#.
Good Luck,

Stay and get the PIC time! I'm a CRJ FO in my third year and we are furloughing, not upgrading! Get the PIC first, then fly the RJs while you apply to the majors.

Another thing to consider.. if you are flying the "ditch"?? you aren't shooting too many approaches or working in an "airline environment"/IFR very much.. if you haven't started get those apps out and see what else you can find. Good luck
