Colgan Air
Can anyone who works for colgan air in the northeast routes or anyone who works the northeast tell me what kind of living expenses might be expected for Colgan's bases?
I know it varies from city to city and where i am now is relatively inexpensive, i have just heard that the cost of living up in the NE is pretty insane. any onfo?

Depends on if you are going to live at your base or not. Food is pretty much the same all over the country and a crashpad will run you $100 - 200 a month. Gas is about 25c more expensive in NY than in FL. Set up a residence in a state that does not have state taxes (FL, TX, NH, etc.) as that will put more in your paycheck.

yeah i didnt think of that. if based in some high tax state just have your perm residence in a low tax state. glad you said that. Likely i would move to my domicile tho if i went with colgan, sounds like a wonderful company. i heard from eagle today though so that pretty much settles it i guess

Just one thought about Eagle - I just met a six year FO in the SAAB the other day - no upgrade in sight. He had 4000 hours SIC time. I just finished flying in December with a FO who is currently upgrading to captain at here at Colgan. He was hired just last Jan 2005. One year to upgrade. He will have his 1000 hours PIC in another 18 months and will be interviewing at the next airline in two years. If you go to Eagle you might get lucky and in nine years you might get to do your IOE with him at the next airline...where he will be a captain. Think about it.
