They could possibly do something similar to what they’ve done with the 550, but it would still have to come in under 65,000 pounds to fly in the UAX system. I also think if it was done right people would fly on it if the ticket price was right and if they could board with a jetway. People sure haven’t avoided the Max.

might be doable, especially if they don’t try to make it long range. Wings don’t have to support engine or store as much fuel. Gear doesn’t have to support it … the process feeds on itself. 50 seat / 750nm range clean sheet could be quite light.
