How is Big Sky to work for out of Boston? What are the lines like? QOL? Days off? How much block time? Anyone...Anyone??

Lines are a mixed bag. There seem to be lines to suit everyones liking. Havent been here long enough to really comment on QOL, for the people who work here who wanna be out west they probably have been happier but the people who wanted to be in Boston dont seem to have any complaints. Days off are 12 per 28 day bid period, which is closer to 13-14/mo. (not bad in my opinion). Lines appear to be built to 80-90 hours, and with the flights going outta boston i would think that you will pick up a few more than that throughout the month.

Anybody that wants to correct or add please do...

That's from a new hire fresh off of IOE. Believe what you want everyone, but from an absolute new hire... you will almost always get a positive impression. After delays, trip cancellations and reassignments, and getting drafted... the best you will get if you are not #1 in seniority is 10 days, maybe. It's an ok place to get your time and run, but you will age 10 years in the 1 year you are required by contract to stay or pay!

Even the reserve lines get more than 10 days in a bid. Most of the lines get 12-13 off in a bid. Also, I have never heard of the company going after someone for their contract pay-out. I won't deny that you age a little faster, though.

Talked to a friend of mine working there and he said they are offering 300% for overtime and Junior manning.

Naw Colgan has been treating me alright up in Maine. Just looking to see how the Bos based pilots are phasing out. You know its nice to be somewhat close to home but to be home is even better.

Ever heard of day b, Shaun? BS airlines uses you for an overnight almost every last reserve day they can. That can add up to an extra 4, 5 or even more days being worked that you were supposed to have off. I know you are new, and there are some extra fo's in Boston, but when things get very bad again you will be getting junior manned illegal to the contract on the days you are on reserve, and flown into day b every chance scheduling gets!

Hey, Where's NICK? Springfield CXL. Now BOS in trouble. I'm sure Delta doesn't tolerate "lack of execution" that Big Sky has shown in the past. Look for this flying to disappear too. That's if I were a betting woman . . . Okay, I'll take the bet.
