Did United run the largest displacement bid during Covid? Now it’s reported United wants 400 a month. Scott says United has the best geographic structure to succeed, then on here, a poster says he said United doesn’t have a hub monopoly like ATL or DFW. At AA he said iPads replace seat back screens, at United they need to keep screens. At AA they need to compete with Spirt heads up, at United just run your own show with excellence, let them do them. He seems like a lawyer that can argue both sides of a case, and on both sides of the issue make himself sound uniquely authentic. Seems like if he is a good as he wants everyone to think, he would have done better at AA or left sooner. |

Didn’t Scott cancel or delay Oscar’s 737 order? Begged the union for RJs, let Xjet go under then claim a pilot shortage. Now he puts in his own NB order in and everything is different? He wrote a letter specifically saying Rochester MN, doesn’t work with mainline, hyped everyone up as a new CEO with his detailed explanations.

So, you can attempt to discredit SK, but it won’t make AA’s prospects look any better. And btw, he was promised the CEO job and was fired/left the same day it came out that DP no longer intended to make good on that |

I think of you had any experience flying for either company, you’d realize that (at this moment in history), there isn’t much of a comparison between the two airlines. Kinda of like comparing united to delta in 2010.

Economics change... He didn't delay any narrowbody order at all. The economics of RJs have changed in the last 5 years. United does have the best hubs, but yeah, they don't have a monopoly on their hubs like AA and DL do. When he was at AA the whole industry was moving away from screens and then DL went all in and forced everyone else to go back.
Things change, not sure what to tell you. I think getting rid of screens was premature... half the traveling public (the older half, who account for 2/3 of the revenue) don't like watching movies on phones. I'm even in that camp, the bigger the better as far as screens go. If it's a movie I'm particularly interested in I'll make a point of going to the theater. |

UAL ordered 40 737-700's then did a follow on order of 25...all of those were deferred with the exception of 4 being converted to 737-800's. So 61 deferred and converted to the max, variant unknown. Plus the original 100 max9. United Airlines Announces Fleet Update - Mar 8, 2016 Scott does everything with max confidence just like a pilot. His track record is AA though, so somewhat unwarranted confidence. Maybe dumping the RJ is a good decision, but not because “We have 319s who needs 200s”. He had 319s when he signed those RJs, and was deferring 737s. The comment is just a reflection of his confidence not accuracy. I think the TA proves it too. They clearly bought into his confidence that this was the best offer. Scott said so, and said it with confidence. |
