Thanks for the information. Does Eagle still use hot reserve or airport reserve? I think they do.

How many hours a month does the average pilot fly? The guaranteed line is 72 and reserve is 75, but is the average number of hours flown higher? Is there a target number like say 82-85 per month? Thanks again.

they schedule the lines on a 4 on 3 off basis which gives usually 12 days off on a line minimum, but there are a few 11 day off lines. they can junior man you twice in a month and extend you unlimited times. |

Eagle is a good place to come to. Never got junior manned. And the upgrade time is getting less and less. |
I'm holding a composite line in BOS in Jul, worth about 95 hours. I've been on line since Feb. Chances are fair to good that I'll hold a hard line in August. Lots of new guys coming aboard, about 30 junior to me in BOS now, including guys in the schoolhouse.
This month I'm sitting regular reserve, and have flown about 30 hours. The guy just junior to me has logged about 85. I proffer(bid) lots of RAPs to stay home, he goes for all the flying he can get. I've been stuck doing ready reserve 1100-1900 for about the last week, and have been getting about one leg of flying and a deadhead back almost every day. Being able to proffer for trips makes reserve at Eagle very tolerable. The biggest caveat is you can get stuck with an airport reserve line for the month. Obviously, it usually goes to the 3 most junior pilots in domicile, so at least you won't have to do it more than once if you don't want to. Bottom line, Eagle is not a bad place to be at all. Life on reserve isn't bad. Time on reserve is short. Schedules are decent. Equipment is good. Crews are good. Pay is ok. Upgrade times are coming down to a resonable level. And once AA & APA get thier contract hammered out (in a year or two, or so) there will probably even be growth. |
I have to say I just spent my first few weeks online and I have flown almost everytime. I already have something like 65hrs in the plane. I have only sat 4days on ready rsv and got a day of RAP. I got good rsv line for July too. Even got the 4th of July off. Probably be JM'd HAHE. I already have 15 below me that are in training. By the end of July I should have 6 or 7 below me so that should keep clear of STBY. Not too bad

i had two months of reserve in sju one was all ready reserve (S3) that month i flew 15 hours or so. the next month on normal reserve i flew 45-50 or so and was bumped from open trips to fly the couch some more. JM is going to become a big issue in SJU since there are very few people going down there now that you can pick your base.
