Where to put my car?

I am having problems finding a place to put my car in MSP. I am based out of Memphis so I was told I can not use employee parking in msp. The nearby parking ramps wants 60-70 a week. I return home once a week and its getting expensive for my friends to come pick me up all the time. My home is about 3 hours south of MSP. I was thinking of leaving at the mall of america but worry it will get towed. Anyone have ideas for me?

Welcome to the world of working for regional airlines. You make NO MONEY and gain NO RESPECT. Your basic needs get ignored by the company you finance with their poverty level wages. All in the interest of flying that shiny jet.

MSP has commuter parking in the humphrey terminal. It is 37 bux a month. Go talk to the parking authority.

Thats pathetic. Make 20 to 23 bucks a flight hour and have to pay for airport parking too. Basic office workers get a better deal.

Expensive to have your friends pick you up?! How so - do they charge you?? 'Cause that 'aint no friend!

I was under the impression that most regionals will pay for parking at either your domicile or home of record, provided it isn't more expensive than the domicile. They certainly won't pay for both, but you should be able to work at least getting what they pay for parking at MEM to put towards your MSP parking. Worth asking if you haven't already.

Yep - my thoughts as well...they'll give you the cost of a parking permit at domicile and nothing more. Hopefully you're domiciled out of a Metro-area Airport, so it should more than cover a small airport's pass!

I was in a similar situation as you, and I just went in and talked to Mike (your MSP base manager, I think he is still there) and he got everything switched around for me. Try it out, never hurts.

Thanks for the help guys. It was getting expensive for my friends not me. Its also a big hassle for them. Ill try talking to the base manger. If that dont work Ill pay the small fee. Thanks again guys.

Depending on the location, in many towns you can park on the street somewhere near one of the private airport parking lots and just take the parking bus to the terminal (they know what you're doing, just give the driver a big tip). This is recommended only for airport cars, not your good car...
