Republic DEN base

Anyone have any info on Republic? I am interested in a DEN base and am curious how senior its going right now. How's their upgrade time? The APC website says under two years, but is that accurate?

den for fo is going to new hires. upgrade is going 2-2.5 years for 50 seat jet and den CA is senior so upgrade is probably around 4 years for 170.

We're upgrading April 05 guys into the 145 right now. I was a lil' pessimistic and figured my own upgrade would be around 3 years. After actually looking at the number of people ahead of me on the seniority list instead of just checking dates, I think I may come in just under 2 years. There's just not as many people as I thought between me and the most Junior CA.

Is the 170 the only airplane in the DEN base? Is it hard to get that airplane from the start?

yeah, right now the only flying we're doing out of DEN is on the Frontier side which utilizes the 170s on the Republic certificate. So..... that means when you interview, they will put you where they want you: Shuttle, Republic or Chautauqua. In order to get DEN, you need to get the Republic side. And remember, there is no switching over to another certificate unless you are CA upgrading. So whatever you get, you stick with for about 2 years or so.

Are they hiring for the Republic side? Will I know what base and equipment I can expect before I start class or is it a crapshoot? Do they let you choose?

Yes we are hiring for RW, they will tell you which certificate when you get the offer to start class. But they will not tell you which base until the end of training. As far as I know we do not let you choose which certificate. Base assignments are done via bids and are based on seniority.

I interviewed up there last month, and start training this month. It seems like most people who interviewed recently got the E145, myself included...it seems like thats what needs to be filled right now. The CHQ E145 has more bases to choose from, which I liked. One high timer (4000+) got the Republic 170. If you want to be based in DEN, you can request to work on the Republic side, but if they don't need people in the 170, it may be a while until you start training, thus lower seniority in the big scheme of things. Just a few thoughts...
