At least for AE, it all depends on where you say your permanent address is. If you use a Portland OR address then thats where they will take taxes for. If you send out your resume with 100hrs today, then you might get interview offers 2 weeks from now. As long as you can show up to the interview with 100hrs multi then it isnt a problem.

That is not entirely true. When I interviewed a girl got dismissed right away because of "logbook" issues. Turns out that when she applied she said she had 100 multi (the mins) but it turns out she was actually a few hours short but did get the 100 by the time she interviewed. The application just had a checkbox that said "Do you have at least 100 hours in multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft? Yes/No" so she basically lied on her application, which is almost always disqualifying. Bottom line is this: Don't say you have 100 hours multi if you don't. If you have 96 hours, say you have 96 hours. 2 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things and would definitely be worth waiting if it means the difference between your dream job and being disqualified from your dream job.

I think the question also lies in how much time you spend in the state you are domiciled. We were just talking about this the other day at work. In massachussetts they will tax you whether you are a resident or not if you work in the state, even if your permanent address is somewhere else. The one stipulation lies in that if more than 50% of your work is done out of state then you are exempt. Well being that we are really only in mass. for T/O and ldg. and all flights go out of state it's easy to justify that we spend more than half our time working out of state, so therefore avoid having to pay taxes.

This is how the situation was explained to me, not sure that i'm spot on in my understanding. I guess what it comes down to is every state is a little different and talking to an accountant or someone that knows is the only real way to get solid answers to questions like this.

Hey thanks for all the answers.... I was always curious about the taxes... I currently live in a state that does not take state taxes but I used to live in one that did and it sucked. I wouldn't want to get state taxes taken off specially with first year FO pay.

As far as the multi time I think i'm going to just wait for the airplane to get back to the line..... two weeks isn't bad at all :)

Does anyone know what questions they ask after you post your resume on Expressjet's wedsite? Just curious
