xjet pay
Does anyone know how much you can make on avg first, second year at express?? I know base is 19,800 but i was wondering what the avg is. Also do you guys ever get to hang out on trips or is it usually fly, hotel, sleep, wake up and do it again?? Oh yea and how hard is it to get IAH or EWR??? and how long would you be on reserve?? THanks

Pay is rough first year, Im having to pick up trips during open time to pay the bills. You can count on about 1400/month take home pay on reserve and 1800-2000 if you have a line (rough numbers. lots of variables go into that). Count on going to the west coast for a few months but you can bid back soon. IAH is senior so it may take you 10 months to get off reserve there, EWR wont take that long, mabye 3 or 4 months of reserve (that could and will change). Unless I lived in base I would rather have a longer commute and have a line and get paid more, but Im not married. Some trip have long overnights, some short ones. I say the average overnight is about 13 hours here. I've learned its not where you are its who you are with and at XJT 99% of the people here are great to fly with. We are hiring 80/month indefinately, get in and move up quick.

I am on first year pay, but YTD pay for me is 13,500.00 I just checked it, I try to fly as much as I can and jump all over open-time. Some overnights are longer and more entertaining than others, the same goes with the crews, but you will see a lot of different cities here...................
PS June was a very busy month for me, my Pay check on he 16th was 2,950.00 Gross, taxes and other deductions, came out to like $1,900.00 take home |
thanks i got through the interview already but im still unsure of what my move is going to be....flying charter making 30K whats reserve time out on the west coast??/
|
Well i have been sitting home on my duff for the past 3 weeks and have gotten two paychecks the first one wasn't great just about $500 but the second one where i got my 37.5 and per diam it was about $1,300 take home and that was doing nothing. Not great but certianly more then i have ever made doing nothing!

My pay has doubled every year i have been here. First year is lower 20's second year was in the the mid 40's and this year i upgraded at 2 years 2 months and I am unsure what it will be but so far its good. As an FO though the most money i made was my last month as an FO and pulled in $6157.91 gross. Not bad for an F/O so yes first year wasn't great it gets better. Hope that helps |
yea that def helps....it seems possible to survive....how would you say QOL is as far as days flying,schedules,commuting....all the advice the better thanks everyone!!!

I'm on target to finish my second year at about 44K. I work about 90-95 hours a month and get paid average 100 hours.

any of you guys commute from south florida??
|
I live in IAH and as an FO was IAH based. So living in base allowed me to maximize my schedule and pay. Now i am a CA in ONT and now commute so we shall see how things go now. So far its been ok.

I may hold out for IAH when the time comes, it's so nice to live in base...like you said, you can maximize your schedule and pay.

So if If I want to stay near west coast, Xjet would be a better regional for me?
|
SongMan if you only knew. LAX and ONT are junior bases. Pilots are getting high value lines right out of training at LAX. I think our LAX operation will grow too.
|
are expressjet pilots getting lines right out of training out west??
|
LAX - yes
ONT - no, but should not be a long wait at all |
