Delta Travel Benefits

I was just wondering if Skywest, ASA and everyone else that flies for Delta get the same travel benefits on Delta as us over here at Comair?

I think it's mostly the same but at a lower priority on mainline. We don't pay mileage or leg fees for immediate family, but that may change in the near future (apparently DAL wants to start charging all non-revs like UAL).

ASA pilots would know for sure...they had what you have but were downgraded to the standard DCI bennies after they were sold.

No. Where you fly S-3 SKW flys S-3C. ASA still has the same benefits as Comair, but that is going to change in the very near future. Once Comair is sold (there is no doubt) and you are no longer owned by Delta your benefits will look like SKW. No more S-3 or S-2.

yeah and asa and comair still have buddy passes that are good on delta. the talks are already started to change that at asa and comair will follow suit soon after they are sold.

ASA still has the same Delta benefits we had when they owned us... for now. Unlimited domestic and int'l S3 on ASA, CMR and mainline, S3C on the other DCIs. 6 S2s per year. Parents get unlimited S3Bs for domestic, and "yield fare" (basically 1% of the fare) for int'l

PandaExpress. They're going to use Comair to taxi ingredients between stores in CVG and an EXTREMELY slow pace...

I do not work for Comair, but I do know how to read tea leaves. If Delta can not find a buyer they will spin off Comair and make it indepentant. Delta wants to have the biggest club (threat) to use on the regionals to keep costs down and it doesn't work as well if they own one.

Do explain your logic . . .

Delta whipsaws the regionals against each other when they do RFP's. When Delta bought ASA & Comair they thought they could control costs better if they owned their feed. As it turns out the Comair strike taught them that they do not want to have a concentration of any one company in any one hub and it is even more difficult to control the costs if they own the feed. If a regional gets struck they want to have other regionals already flying at that hub so the whole operation is not impacted and it is more difficult to identify struck work. They even have multiple regionals flying on the same routes now. If they squeeze Comair too much it deflates the value of Comair. They would prefer to have the capital cost of ownership in their treasury since it actually decreases their debt to equity ratio which should increase the stock price and they want Comair to have the highest value possible while they are trying to peddle it. Once Comair is cashed out (sold) they will be able to more effectively add Comair into the whipsaw fray and if Comair looses flying it won't effect Delta's bottom line.

Mmm, Panda Express.
Wish we had one of those in STL instead of that crappy Man-poo Wok.

Yak I dont agree with your logic but then again I dont have an 8 ball like you do.. How ever if you are right thats more the reason that all regionals need Union Support.
