Per Diem
Any regional airline pilot please chime in. How much does one make in per diem per month at a regional?
|
Per Diem is an hourly rate that is negotiated in the union's CBA. Per diem gets paid differently than straight compensation. The rate of say $1.65 would mean It is computed from the time you are required to be at your duty airport to the time you get released. If you are gone for four days four times in a month, you could get more than $600 tax free. Generally speaking a pilot reports to thier workstation an hour prior to flight time on the first day and ends thier duty 15 minutes after thier last flight. All hours in between are paid at the perdiem rate. This is meant to cover costs while on the road, Food, toiletries, Etc... On average a pilot will earn 3K-4K domestically in perdiem. I would NOT count this towards income becuase you will realize quickly that you really wil spend this cash on food and travel related items once you are at an airline.
Good Luck, Paul |
I average about $300-350 per month. I got more on reserve. Sometimes as high as $500 in non-taxable.

This most likely is an easy question to add on to current thread question or just simply research on, but here goes, how does this pay differ or correlate with "trip rigs"? Is it part of of per diem and I hear most regionals do not pay out rigs?
|
600 -$700 per month for me if im not on reserve.. . I usually try to get high TAFB trips so i could make a little extra money... Bring your own food and down eat out and that per diem check is extra income.. Day trip are sually taxed so i try to stay away from those, too much gas money to spend..

My line for this bid had 440 TAFB with a 2 day transition trip so it is going to be 470-480 TAFB...Horizon per diem is $1.75 so I will be well over $700 fo this bid

Mesa's per diem is a lot less than it's competitors. That's how JO makes his millions! :)

Absolutely nothing!
But we're working on that... |

A 4:1 trip rig would mean 1 hour of pay for every four hours spent away from base. Example; You show on day 1 of at 12:00 and end on day 4 at 12:00. Time away from base (TAFB) ends up being 72 hrs. The rig would be 18 hrs of pay, the scheduled time, or the actual block time. Whichever is higher. Per diem in this case. 72 hrs at $1.65 hr = $118.80 in per diem for the 4 day trip. MOST regionals don't have trip rigs. I belive AWAC may be getting theirs back. BoilerUp would know. |
