Without speaking for him, I interpret that sentiment to be centered on one not willing to make sacrifices in order to achieve the end goal, not having to do with qualifications. Specifically speaking to relocating. When trying to gain a foothold into this career, it is often necessary to move to where the job is and his statement (opinion) is that younger folks today appear less willing to do that than previous generations.

Im not sure I would agree with the term entitled for that reason alone but I do question folks when they are trying to get that first job but then state what they are NOT willing to do in order to get said job. I have made many sacrifices to get where I am, including relocating several times. I did it for both an entry into the field as well as for career progression. I would have loved to stay put where I started this journey but at the time, that was not an option.

Sure, some are able to do it much like that 1,800TT fresh ATP regional FO who got picked up at Delta. But it is the exception rather than the rule.

So far people that are saying no one should have an issue getting a job these days have qualified it by "plenty" and "a lot" when mentioning the available jobs out there. Some people are woefully out of touch to the current reality to low time pilots.

Go on this website and go through every company on the profiles page and you'll see plenty of places that are hiring. Go on indeed, LinkedIn, climbto350, propilot world, and just google pilot jobs. I know this thread is in the regional forums but pilots on here complaining about having to CFI and waiting for a regional class date should look beyond passenger flying regionals if they want to move up the ladder quickly in this hiring environment or they can just wait for that regional to call.

Most are and they are all getting TBNT letters from almost every one of the jobs you referred to for being under qualified. Go look at the sob storied posted on the flying subreddit, there is a lot of documentation on the struggles of those going out trying to find jobs.

Which proves my point, it is probably just as hard if not harder for low times pilots to find a job today than it was is the early 00s.

While hiring at the Legacies is still up, the vast influx of new pilots, more than any time in history, is creating a bottleneck for the entry level jobs, which there are fewer of then there was back then.

when you say under qualified are you talking under 500 hours, 135 ifr minimums, or ATP minimums?
Here's one for the 135 for minimums.

Because the profiles on here are well known for being current with up-to-date information. Just saying 🤷‍♂️

You do know there is a difference between hiring mins and competitive mins right? I am not saying there is flying out there to be had. Yes, somebody will get hired into that position. But unlike a few years ago, they now have dozens or more applications for each position.

Yeah, pilots are going to have to convince these places that they will work there for a while and not just leave as soon as the regional they want to work for calls.

I suspect 91/135 operators presently have a 100:1 ratio of apps to jobs.
