i hear what you are saying about waiting and all, but two things come to mind.. i as well am not tryin to come off as an *******, as many people think... first off, i wasnt speaking as if i am going to some multi program guarunteeing me thousands of cheap hours.. .i have my degree to get first.. (this is where i get angry)... i read this posts and they are filled with miserable people hating life because they regret too much.. pilots need to stop bitching... pay is pay, hours are hours, and time away from home is what you signed on for... so yes, i will get my degree, so that i dont end up miserable... secondly, i dont expect to get a jet job without paying my dues.. im 21 years old... lots of time left.. if i start now, what will i be in the industry for 40 years.. ha.... let me figure out the rest of life first.. who knows i might hit the lottery and buy an airline and give some APC guys a job (b757200, skyhigh, etc).... and lastly, as far as death is concerned in an airplane, ive cheated it once already at the hands of my CFI who i believe no longer has his ticket... he demonstrated a stall, ended up in a spin, and HE froze up... i guess i read the book more than he did because i was the one to get us out....... and then i got him fired.. felt bad for the guy afterwards, but he almost killed us

The way things are right now, there will always be some regional who is hiring at 600/100. I wouldn't sweat over one regional.

I have to agree with corl737. I doesn't matter what equipment you get into , it is going to be at least 100knts faster than anything their flying now. Its just one of those things and if he can't handle it Eagle gives you the option of returning to the 172 and the safe two miles a minute speed. Regardless thats what the training center does.................train. At some point all these guys are going to go from the 150knt airplane to something going at least 210. And yes the majority of eagle new hires are going to the RJ so it's time to start talking .79 mach at FL 310.

All in all don't be discouraged with speed, it will take time to adjust, but basic fundimentals apply......attitude + power = performance. Just get that scan going faster.

About my earlier post. I apologize if I came off a little strong - I didn't mean to be a jerk. I am sorry to hear about your past experience with that dope of an instructor. It's good that you know your stuff. Good to know there are more safety-concious pilots out there. I am the same age as you and I am paying my dues as well. I was just trying to pass on my personal experience, but I guess it rubbed off a little too strong (I'm an instructor, I am a little anal 'cause I have to be). Anyways, get your stuff done ASAP, get that multi done, and make sure you get as much ME time as possible. A lot of these companies (ASA, AE, XJet...) are looking for lower time guys/gals because they know that you will be with them for a while/for a career.

As a young pilot (22) who recently made the transition from GA aircraft to a King Air, I agree that developing a quick scan is the toughest thing to do. Without such a scan, you will be all over the place like a beginning instrument student. (not to mention getting used to flying a FD which shows bank opposite the manner a conventional AI does) Luckily I had time to practice in a sim at SIMCOM Orlando prior to jumping in the plane.

Don't try to learn from those that are in the industry. Don't worry you'll be the one to figure it all out by yourself. When you've been in our shoes awhile you'll view the new guys with your attitude the same way.

And when will AE be getting ejets? As far as I know, RAH and JetBlue have the next 200 delivery slots including options tied up, which translates to mltiple years before AE sees an ejet on property. Correct me if I am wrong

This is a very interesting time building technique. Could this be done to build the 1500 hundred hours PIC multi engine requirements that are required by FedEx, and UPS or do they require that you have been employed by an airline?

I got hired their before taking a job with XJT. I think they are hurting for people, interviewed 6 people my day and hired one, me. Most of the guys who didn't make it were 100TT wonders, seemed like they really grilled them on systems and IFR stuff, even guys who thought they did awesome were out the door, I thought I did terrible so who knows, one thing is if you pass the physical consider being an astronaut, payes better.
