Health insurance is bad. 401K matching is bad. We're in contract negotiations, so theres a chance of it getting better, but it'll be a while before we get a new contract. Its already been a year, and it will probably be at least one more.

Probably the best bennie you'll get from TSA is the $2500 bonus when you go to CHQ

Hey, for you who have been at TSA and left for other places, how do health insurance, 401K, vacation, and all that crap compare?

TSA's benefits suck and are more expensive for less coverage.

401K at TSA has a 1% match. oh, and a 1% management fee for the account.

health insurance is expensive, and the coverage is on par with what you can get on your own.

the only thing worth signing up for is the life insurance, as the company pays for all of the premiums.

you get no vacation until you hit the 1yr mark. i'm already accruing vacation at Shuttle

Does that mean that you don't accrue any vacation until AFTER one year?

Most companies accrue some vacation during then first year but you can't actually take it until after the one year mark.

Thats the way it is at TSA. After one year you have one week to use.

Probably the best benefit of working at TSA is seeing how NOT to run an airline! I guess this could help when picking your next employer...
