Default Mesa Pilots tell me the truth

I'm in ground school right now for the RJ. It seems like most of the bashing, joke telling, and photos of rj's have something to do with Mesa. It can't really be that bad, can it? We never talked about other airlines while in E120 ground, no one else really has them left. If it is that bad, I wish you the best of luck.

I did the same thing 4 years ago with them .....I left before the sim ride ....but I still have someone that still working for them ...so the only thing that I can advise you ...is......enjoy your time ....get some time experience ...and look for something else when will be the time .

The Big boys will hiring soon …and there will be major scramble for Pilots with the Regional’s once again …….. just like in 1999.
I still vivid remember with ASA in 1999 during the interview the Head of HR asked in front of 200 candidates …..” who does feel to run for a direct CA seat ..??…Swear ………..My friend now (CA Joe Russo) got the job @ the spot !!!!!!!!!!…they were booming but short of pilots..

Default As objective as I can be....

I've been at Mesa for 1 1/2 years. Life on reserve was difficult, as we get only 8 of 28 days off. Pretty tough when you commute. As a lineholder, it got better. Minimum 10 of 28 days off. What I have noticed about Mesa is that they are very cheap, but end up losing much of the money they save on fixing their screw ups. It appears to me there are not enough aircraft and they aren't very well-maintained. But then again, maybe it's like that at all the regionals. With no pay protection, you can lose a lot of money. I've chosen to leave. The last straw- I'd probably have to go to JFK soon. The commute would be twice as long. Add to that no pay protection, and it's going to be brutal on the people forced to be based there.

All that said, I suspect many of the rants you read here are simply people parroting what they've already heard, and the Mesa monster has grown to myth-like proportions.

No...no its not.

I support MAG pilots 100% in getting every single thing they deserve (industry-leading pay AND workrules) out of their upcoming contract negotiations.

The ex-mesa pilots I know went to Delta (furloughed) America West, and UPS, plus, I have a friend who is a Dash 8 Capt who is looking to move on. It is what it is. JO is in the same catagory as Lorenzo as far as how he treats his pilots. It would suck to work for him.

I will have to agree with that. After being at Mesa for a while, one gets the distinct feeling that whoever is running the show simply does not like pilots.
