Default ATP's take on the future

The future looks bright for aspiring pilots!

United Airlines says it will hire up to 100 new pilots
The Associated Press
06/19/2007 01:57:09 PM MDT

United Airlines said today it would hire up to 100 pilots later this
year, the first time the carrier has added new pilots since 2001.

Legacy carriers are planning on continued growth into the foreseeable
future with emphasis on international markets. As with any growth, the
airlines will have to hire additional flight crews to handle this added
capacity. Most major airlines field these new pilot openings with
current regional airline pilots. This will putt an even larger strain
on the already pilot strapped regional airlines.

With ever decreasing minimum hiring requirements the regional airlines
are realizing the importance of quality training. ATP is pleased to be
partnered with 11 regional airlines who are currently recruiting a high
number of pilots. ATP is also happy to announce that 277 graduates
have
been placed with these and other airlines in the last 12 months.

Here are just a few of our recent success stories:

Patrick Brazell / Piedmont / 228TT 117ME / hired within 3 months
Garrett Greiss / American Eagle / 425TT 301ME / hired within 13 months
Kevin Gaskell / Air Wisconsin / 585TT 350ME / hired within 8 months
Ross Thomas / ASA / 291TT 118ME / hired within 10 months
Alex Lehman / TSA / 497TT 137ME / hired within 5 months

TT - total flight time
ME - multi engine flight time

I feel real sorry for all those guys who forked over all that money. It's sad but I think some guys just believe that ATP is "THE" way to get a regional job quick.

Have fun with that debt boys!

CAPT is the other way to go...but then again, I didn't get a job after paying all that money. Then again, I got screwed by management at CAPT...dragging their feet with my resume delivery to the regional airlines and lies about all those regional connections that only existed in their imaginations when I signed up. Oh the lies they sold! CAPT was just a really bad way to spend good money that I didn't have.

No need to worry about CAPT. Riddle phased it out because it was well, bad. Then last I heard somebody bought the program but I haven't seen or heard "CAPTFlight" over the radio in a while.

Your right about my car, but I am not on the list. I don't fly for a living I just fly as a hobby. I recieved that letter in my email because at one time I was looking at ATP.

Have you looked into a lawsuit? I flew with a guy who did a similar program at FlightSafety and he sued and got all of his money back. Now he's in the aircraft insurance business, and flies around from place to place. Pretty good gig, especially because he didn't pay a penny for his ratings .

ATP seems like a pretty good gig ONCE you get your CFI tickets. I hear they pay fairly well, offer you the RJ standards course, and many guys are logging 100+ a month.
