I should have clarified... screw 'em, as in the company, not the pilots. Although I have left, I have some good friends there that I fully support in seeking a better contract.

As for Jeny, I think you're giving her a bit too much credit. Her profile says she's also flown an F-18 and T-38. I find that incredibly difficult to believe. Perhaps she's talking about her father when it comes to credentials?

Be careful...you don't want JO under-bidding your new employer in a few years. Mesa is the industry bench-mark (at the low end)...we need to support the mag pilots in their upcoming negotiations.

MAG pilots! If I ever run into one of you at a bar, I'm buying!

Take care and good luck!

Also, what happened Jeny? Why couldn't your father get another job regardless of what it was? Why did you have to support the family, or "keep them alive?" LOL

In rough times you should all pull together; your mother, bother (should be old enough if what you say is true) and father should have started working what ever was available.

PS. SexyJeny………. Your grammar is.........? Someone who claims to have your experience should be able to properly piece together a posting. I have no problems with the occasional spelling error but continuous grammar errors tend to raise questions. Slow down and proof read, it will add creditability.

I looked into the origin of the word "woman" -- it originally comes from the term wifmann, meaning basically "wife/female of a human being". It slowly evolved into the words wimman, wumman, and finally woman. So even if you misspell it to remove the male pronoun, it's still a crap word. It just makes you the "wife of a myn" or something. So I looked up "female". Interestingly enough, it has nothing to do with the word "male". It was misspelled sometime between 1000 and 1500 as "female" to make it look more like the word "male", but it was originally spelled femelle, and descended from the Latin femina, or woman. This looked promising, as femina (plural feminie) is totally unrelated to the Latin words for man/male, vir, or man/human being, homo. But the probable (while hypothetical) origins of the Latin term lie in a prehistoric root (dhe) meaning "to suckle", which somehow became femina, (as well as felare, to suck; filius/filia, son/daughter; and fetus, progeny). So the implications of the word are tied up in motherhood and fertility. Keep looking. So, on to my word, girl. It comes directly from the word girle (earlier gurle) which for several centuries (until the 1500s or so) meant a young person of either gender. (It is tentatively assumed, if you want to know, to come from an older word, gyrele, which came from the prehistoric root gher, or small.) Eventually it was only applied to young females until their marriage. (At which time they got to be a woman, the "wife of a human being", oh boy!) "Girl" was originally non-gender specific, carries no history of "womanly occupations", and in fact implies not being an appendage to a man. (i.e., implies independence.) So, I still say I'm a GIRL. I guess this means someday I'll have to be an old girl, but maybe by then we'll think of something even better. And in the meantime I'll be whatever kind of girl I want to be.

Seriously? Are we frustrated about being a women/female/girl?

I give you an A+ for ranting!

Although, if that is your pic, I will give you the "Sexy" label.

SexyJeny,

Can you tell us more about CAFB? I went through training there myself... The "info" you give about the base sounds like website babble, as well with the "Iraqi Freedom" training... please tell more, what did you fly/Squadron, how long in the AF?

UtFlyer 08-18-2007 01:15 PM

Now, now kids. Every one just relax and have another pint. At least you guys have a girl talking to you. What do you want a couple more of those wet certificate 23 year olds telling you just how the airline business and the world really works. You know with all their vast and worldly experience. Afterall some of them have flown over something like 4 state lines in one leg.
