Jeez.... that wet blanket will just blather on and on.... cripes I have a Class I coming up... I will have to stay off the forum a few days before so he doesnt elevate my blood pressure. LOL
I agree though.... some upward movement is happening at the big boys.. and as long as they are reasonable in their requests things will be okay for everyone.

The industry isnt going anywhere but upwards. So long as the unions don't kill the golden goose the way they were trying to do prior to 9/11, everything should work out just fine. Some of the contracts that were agreed to prior to 9/11 were just a little too much a little to fast combined with too rapid an expansion. The big picture is for long term employment and to get that the company needs to have a strong bottom line, good credit and a stable and strong stock price. A strong company and good reasonable wages should be able to coexist. However some of these executive bonuses are a little on the high side.
As for disgruntled ex employees, there are always going to be guys that are ****ed that they fell out of aviation. Usually they are full of excuses on just why it had to happen the way it did for them and that the industry as a whole has failed. Those people couldnt be farther from the truth.
The airlines hire and will hire just about anyone with enough experience and a reasonably good attitude. So, its probably good that someone with a wet blanket attitude should stay out of the cockpit. That way they don't create problems when they are on the property. There is also probably a good reason for why they can't get employment in the business anyways. When you get around the complainers they become just a pain to have to work with, especially share a cockpit with.

Sorry it has to be that way. I once lived with three guys in a two bedroom house and worked six days a week. Even had to clean toilets once in a while. It's called paying your dues and it leads to bigger and better things. Not saying it's right about your living situation, but you can always take Skyhighs advice and quit now while you're still ahead.
All I can say is.....glad I didn't quit when the chips were down......

No need to say sorry. Its actually pretty nice, I'm not bitter about it at all. I just thought it was amusing.

And at the same time the housing industry is in the crapper. Skyhigh is always talking about how plumbers make more than pilots...
I'd hate to be any kind of construction worker right now, with home construction at a 10 year low.
Investment homes are tough too because money is hard to borrow and with so many homes on the markets, rents are at about the same place where they were ten years ago.
How 'bout it Sky? You gonna take the bait on this bit of trolling?

I saw the ad on craigslist and the whole process took about a month. Mostly because they didn't understand how pilots are paid. At first they said no way because I make 19.25 an hour. I then had to explain that I only get paid for 80 hours a month. Then they notice I get paid 75 for reserve and add the two saying I still make too much. So I have to explain i only get paid for 80 or 75 not both. It went on and on, I had to write so many damn statements it was annoying. It worked out though and I'm pleased with the place. Its not an entire building set aside for low income, its a normal place with a few units designated as low income.
