Colgan upgrade minimums

I've heard from some that our saab minimums are going to be reduced. Anyone know if this is true, and if so what are the new minimums?

As far as newER minimums I dont know.

Latest mins: ATP with 1000 hours in company type.

Any lower than that and you're talking about a real safety issue.

Are you willing and able to work in excess of a 16hr hr duty day?
Are you willing and able to accept a shortage of pay?
Are you willing and able to not receive per-diem?
Are you willing and able to let them change times to make you legal for BS Flights
Are you willing and able to work on your day off, not to be restored?
Are you willing and able to fly knowing broken airplanes and refrain from write-ups?
Are you willing and able to be the PIC of a 121 airplane for $45.00/hr?

If you can answer yes to all of these questions, then yes you can be a CA, I dont see why they need to drop the mins, I have buddies that have been there two years and have yet to upgrade...............

I agree. Anything less than 1000 in type is not acceptable. I just wonder how all of the Saab captain attrition is going to be covered.

Actually most of them are going to the new airplane. People are definitely moving out though to SWA, CA, Airtran, and I think one to Delta recently. Will be interesting to see what happens now that the vote is done

Saab. Once again you dont know what you are talking about. Alot of captains have left to other airlines. Sorry we all dont fly a jungle jet like you. All those buttons. WOW!!!! good for you. I have been at colgan for 2 years. Been a captain for 5 months. I got 121 hrs of credit last month 97 block, and 14 days off. I work with great people. Having a great time. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Things are great for me. Worry about your company not the one you used to work for. Don't know why you are so concerned about colgan. U WORK FOR XJET. Did you forget? Oh yea, You have 2,445 posts. Get a life.

I haven't had any problems. I got a base 10 minutes from home within 2 months of being hired and had 18 days off this month with the afternoon shift. I could sleep until noon everyday if I wanted to. Worst schedule I have gotten this summer is 3 on 4 off. I feel like I'm on a constant vacation; drinking beer with my boys right now.

CubCap,
I havent seen you around for a while. I am going to give you a call soon, my wife and I bought a house on the seacoast so Colgan has become my number one choice for the QOL we have talked about( over other regionals where I could be based in who knows where). I am looking to move on probably in November or so.

I am entertaining the idea of corporate as well but who knows if that will work out
