Yeah, I have over 8000 hours, 6000 turbine, 3 types, and no phone call. Hopefully soon, I've had my stuff in there for months. I guess I just have to be patient.

Isnt this place just another "regional"......... WHats the allure??????? a flow-through???? look how well those always end up, and it cant be the pay or the contract..................please someone enlighten me..............

From what I know so far, the contract is pretty good considering our current definition of good.

The real draw for me is getting in at the ground floor of a start up.

I saw a Compass 175 at KBNA a few days ago.

I wouldn't be surprised to see RAH buy Compass in the next year or two. Compass is pretty much the same entity that MidAtlantic was.

For me the biggest draw is being able to be based at home. I just hate the commute and its wearing me out fast. My wife is also sick of it, so would be nice to just have a 20 minute drive. Getting in early with a new company would be nice too.

Well The list of cities is growing each month on sept 15th we get the 3rd plane and start flying to GRB, CID and a couple other non-descript midwest cities. I think the contract is average... I was promised capt. pay from day one as well as check airman... funny thing is i finished training at FO pay (kind of sucks) i left airwilly (still glad i did though) at 72 and change a hour for 23 bucks for 2.5 months. I don't miss the commute one bit and i will have a seniority number around 25ish. I like flying the plane its much nicer than the CRJ-200 but the pay thing bothers me to this day. I wouldn't expect anybody hired today to see captain until early next summer... (compass just won't have enough planes on property for the 100 pilots that are already in the pipeline) If you have 5000 hours or more... at this point i am not sure coming here for a 1 year training contract is really your best option with everyone hiring. I suspect new hires won't see the 61.00 hour pay rate until summer of 08'

I suspect the allure of Compass will wear off real soon. Not many people are going to leave there current regional for a commuter unless they are 3 plus years away from a captain slot.. (my guess). The only difference is this company does have the 2.5 years from captain to nwa gig. I imagine with the qualifications i had, i could have gotten into nwa's front door sooner on my own... the only problem i saw was nwa's pay was so terrible for the first 3 years.. I need the money today not a promise of money tomorrow or in 5 years.

As far as compass being sold to republic i doubt it. Compass and nwa are printing money... you don't sell the cash cow until contract negotiations begin, which won't be for 5 more years plus 3 years of railway labor act delays. The way i see it nwa can keep milking this cow for at least 6 years.

Got my interest when the NWA pilots agreed to allow for small jet flying, that APLA was the union, and there was a contract.
