Republic Amends Delta & United Contract

Not only wont it change I think it will get worse. With regional guys earning like 20% of the major guys the majors will continue to outsoure to the regionals. The only reason a 50 seat RJ between major cities is even profitable or practical is because of the low labor rates. The regionals will say that if you guys want more money then the majors will take back more flying and threaten your jobs and its probably true.
RJ pilots are underpaid, but no way in hell are we paid 1/5 of what major pilot makes..unless you are comparing a senior mainline widebody CA to a first year regional FO.
The RJ is practical between small and midsize cities not because of "low labor rates", but because they feed the hub and the high-yield flights out of it.
Mainline take back RJ flying because RJ labor rates are too high? Sounds like a good deal to me!

In reality, they'd just pay JO to make a new airline which would pick up all the furloughed guys and make them work for less than Mesa rates.
