PSA Interview written

Anyone taken the written recently at PSA. Is it like the gleim info or is it like the instrument oral guide questions?

Study whats on aviationinterviews.com under PSA from the last 12mo of posts. Plus go over the ATP written and you will do just fine.

Here's just a handful of examples to give you an idea. There are many more in the gouges at aviationinterviews.com but you'll have to dig. Good luck.

-On a GPS approach, blank NM sensitivity is required at the FAWP.
-A Localizers angular areas of operational service volume provides from blank to blank degrees either side of the course along a radius of 10 NM?
-What are the ranges and altitudes associated with a Terminal VOR?
-What are the ranges and altitudes associated with a Low Altitude (L) VOR?
-In black and white depiction, know what Runway Distance Remaining Signs look like.
-Upon arrival at DH, what are the requirements to continue descending?
-Category C and E approach speeds (worded tricky)
-When is it OK to side step to a parallel runway
-Separation between parallel runways (something like 2500 ft or 3000 ft)
-Localizer width 10 miles out. (10/25/30 degrees?)
-Height above the MM
-PIC (Capt) decision on whether or not to let people on the flight deck.
-Proficiency check for PIC question (121.433d, 121.441a)
-Circling minimums question. Assume you are flying cat. D aircraft – Read the notes on the plate when determining mins
-Landing runway length requirements for destination and alternate airports under part 121
-Altitude you’re expected to cross the threshold

Yes, they even said in the interview that they want you to use the gouge. They consider it CRM. It is really embarrasing if you don't pass the written. Everyone will know and you get sent home. It's a no brainer if you just study what's out there. It is verbatim.

I interviewed on the 22nd and was called the next day and offered an Oct class date which I happily accepted. Gouges are very accurate. study the ATP, FAR/AIM, ins procedures and know the previous a/c you've been flying.

Overall it was a great interview experience..not a cakewalk but not confrontational either. The interviewers are very pleasant and as interested in well rounded pilots with the potential to move up in the system.

Good luck!
