What makes you uncomfortable?

Being rather new to the airline industry (regional in my case), every day I am learning and getting used to how the industry works, it's policies and practices, what is accepted and not accepted.

One thing I see fairly often, that makes me uncomfortable as a flight crew member (though it is a very common practice, is passengers carrying infants on laps in the passenger cabin. I know this has been going on for years, and that many families aren't able to purchase a seat for many reasons...but we all remember (or should remember) what happened on United Airlines flight 232, the issue with lap children being thrown around during the crash landing.

It is one of the legacies of that accident that many (including the FAA) seem to have forgotten. I know there isn't an easy answer...

MODERATE to SEVER TURBULENCE is probably the only thing that makes me uncomfortable..............I just dont trust the tails on these EMBRAERS

Kids in general. Either strap them the crap down, or not allow lousy parents to bring their kids on board.

Just about to add takeoff power on the runway one day in Denver, the F/A calls up and yells to stop because there's a damn kid running down the aisle. The parent (a woman) just didn't give a damn.

Something needs to be done about kids and airplanes!!

btw, Tundra-Jet?? I like it...that'll stick! ;-P

Commuting one day, I saw a lady with a lap child. She put the seat belt around her AND the baby. The physics involved with that one are no good....

When flying and the radios start to get static buildup from the outside and then there's lightning all around. Icing, turbulance, rain, doesn't bother me. The thought of flying something with composite parts near a ton of lightning makes me shift my weight in my seat a little.

You're worried about the ERJ? I flat-out refuse to get on board an A300/310 series.

what, you have a problem with the Toulouse Tree Trimmer?

actually the original A300s are safer than the later, 2 man versions. somewhere in the production line they changed things

If the A300 ever gets off the gate its probably going to be OK. But that's a big IF. CAL stopped flying them 10 years ago and they still have one on a MX delay in EWR! :D

My son has flown quite extensively for a 20 month old (actually he's flown more than one set of grandparents have in their 60 odd years), but he always goes in his car seat strapped in. If there isn't a seat on board for him, then none of us are going, period. On a couple occasions I've retrieved gate checked car seats for pax to use when a seat ends up being available. Its a no brainer that safety is the most important consideration.

The thing that makes me the most uncomfortable is Dead heading on an RJ with a big guy in the seat next to me hogging the arm rest. Especially if I have to sit in that seat for more than an hour. Ugh.:(
