Speeding / License suspension

I put in an app at Skywest about a week ago. I'm well qualified (3000 TT 800 multi) but haven't heard from them. From what I've heard from others and from what I've seen of their aggressive recruiting efforts, I excepted to get an interview invite by now. The only thing I can think of is that I had to include one negative item in the online application... a driver's license suspension for speeding back in 1998. Personally, I wouldn't think that it would be the sort of thing that would prevent me from getting an interview (though I would expect it to come up at the interview). Am I wrong about that?

your license was suspended for one ticket? or after multiple tickets?

Go to the job fair.

Make the effort to go to a job fair and you will get an interview.

Multiple tickets (I was 17 and my first car was a 5 spd rwd turbo), but the app didn't ask about that.

It was nine years ago and you were very young. If your recent record (last 3-5 years) is almost perfect, and you are honest about it you will not have a problem.

If you have continued to acquire multiple tickets each year, you probably need to go two years or so with a clean record. Airlines normally don't care about an occasional speeding ticket, it happens to most of us and we all know it's all about revenue anyway.

I had 1500 TT with 1200 turbine multi when I applied online in January. I didn't get a call for three months so I went to a job fair and got to pick my interview date that same day.

Unless you're a current 121 pilot ( I was 135) they don't seem to grant you an interview based solely on an only app.

Yeah, I'm 135 too. I did have a friend walk my resume in for me, though. He thought they'd call me immediately. I just hate to fork out $500 in airfare to go to one of those group interviews.
