Flight case for CRJ
I did a search on here for a flight case, but I still haven't made a choice yet. I've looked at office max and so on, however, it seems like most of the cases there have wheels on them? Wheels would be ok, however, I'm not sure if it would still fit? What kind of case do you have, and where did you get it?

i have the luggage works ballistic nylon...works fine in the crj if you dont stuff the exterior pockets
|
I have a scott leather case and love it. I had a luggage works case and it was ok then my old lady hooked me up for my birthday and i love the scott case!
|
i dont think any of the cases with wheels fit properly in the crj
|
Scott leather. Don't fool around with anything else. The Scott may well last you the rest of your career.
|
saab you done with OE yet?
I look forward to scaring you soon! And oh, yeah, flight cases...I have the PNT Split Leather bag. Its very nice and I like it a lot, but sits a fuzz too tall in the CRJ bag well. The top flap rubs the bottom CB panel when you open and close it, causing a little unsightly wear. Does have a TON of room, though! |

I look forward to scaring you soon! Seriously, it's like starting over. Everything is oddly familiar, but new at the same time. And flying from the left seat for the first time in 6+ years is very, very wierd. Thankfully I had a super duper F/O for my first trip! |
try http://www.bomcrewmall.com/
I just got one from there made for the CRJ (you tell them what your a/c is and they'll make sure it fits). The bag is handmade from all leather including the interior. The lid has steel frame with carbon fibre insert and is very strong. I'm very happy with it, and the price is way less than Scott. |
Scott leather for me.

Officedepot.com
Catalog case $38.00. Has a 5 year warranty, will fit in the CRJ hole. Works great, lasts a long time. |
i've heard good things about the ballistics..i have the Luggage works stealth leather one...it retails for around 200 or so..real nice fits great...I think that bin is far to small for wheels
|
Scott is the only way to go. It will be the only flight kit you will ever need to buy!
|
Got the Ballistic Nylone - no real complaints, but very much looking forward to second-year pay and a new Scott Leather case ;-)

Anybody use the Jeppesen leather flight cases in the CRJ?
If so, do the 6 binder cases fit as well as the 4 binder cases? 6 binder 12" x 9" x 18" 4 binder 12" x 8" x 18" |
nylon case from ebags..$60. I'll upgrade when the newbie stink washes off.
on a side note..was non-reving out of Seattle this weekend and saw a 4 striper whose case was held together with more speed tape than Tyrone the crack heads' shoes. It would have looked better had he used a glad garbage bag. |

My OfficeMax case has been going strong for 14 months now, and I haven't even taped it up yet!
Also, it's a great platform for expressing your thoughts via sticker. |
To answer my own question,
My Jeppesen 4 binder case fits nicely in the CRJ case holder. Plenty of room for your airlines required items, plus room for personal items. It is stickerable too, so now you have a place for your Hooters and Anti-GoJets stickers. ;)

The nice things about scott cases is that they USED to wear really well, and look better with age. The dark brown would wear through and it would look classy.
But now they use a lighter type of leather painted black, like the one I got a couple of months ago, and the way it's wearing, it just looks like its rotting instead of showing that deep brown hue. Looks like blue cheese on the edges. Kind of looking ugly! I care much more about the durability and I hope this new leather they are using lasts as long as the previous type. Must have gotten a new supplier or something. |

Some wheeled cases DO fit the CRJ. Luggage Works leather cases are pure junk (I know from experience). That's all I have on this topic.

Buddy, if the original poster hasn't found a flight kit by now, he's probably furloughed anyway.
Was it really necessary to drag up a thread that had its last post over a year and a half ago? |

It pays for itself over time. If you want to look like a tool with a Office Depot case held together with duct tape after 6 months be my guest. Ballistic nylon is basically usless too. |

If he ever ends up on an EMB it will knock the feet off the Scott's bag just like they do to everybody elses.... if your going to spend the money on a good bag, you get the Coyoteworks bag. Lifetime Warranty, the leather is through dyed, not just on the outside, it has steel plates on the bottom and is guaranteed against ramp rash, and even the EMB's can't knock the lug bolt feet off the things... great bag... even when/if you go to Mr.Boeing.... the bag won't fail you. Just walk through a crew room and see how many bags still have their feet on them... |
Anyone have thoughts on the rounded top versus the flat top style?
