Regional Airlines
I am having a tough time searching for a thread that regional pilots broke down work rules, typical lines, typical time on reserve, etc. for their airline. Can anybody help me out?
|
That is a bit of a loaded question in many ways. Work rules/lines are different at every airline. I've been with my airline for 4 years and I still don't understand many parts of the contract. So a summary here would be pointless. Reserve times, well they vary by every airline and within every airline at each base and equipment.
Comair typical f/o reserve times are: CVG CRJ: 18 months JFK CRJ: 6 months CVG CR7: 24 months but these are very dynamic |
Like posted above, trying to nail down a "comprehensive guide" is probably going to be very difficult. Even things like reserve and upgrade times are constantly in flux depending on hiring and attrition rates as well as fleet plans for growth and reduction of flying.
Try to narrow down your questions beyond "what's the QOL like" or "what are the work rules" at the regionals. Specific questions about particular airlines are better suited- "Does Comair have min day guarantees" or "What is the maximum number of hours you can work in a day/trip/month/year at Republic?" |
well it was a great thread that was stickied earlier this summer that was organized in an effort to provide more info regarding specific details about regionals that isnt listed on the airline profiles regarding everything from typical days off for line holders, months on reserve, etc etc etc. i just cant remember the title and i am having a difficult time locating it using the search option. pilots from different companies would explain the details of their company on this single thread.....
