What Are WIGWAGS?

When I flew into CVG the other night, the ATIS said the WIGWAGS were out of service. Am I the only one that has no clue what those are?
Enlighten me! THX

I don't know, but I'm going to guess the flashing yellow hold short lines. They kindof fit the wigwag discription.

That's what I would have guessed too...although you'd be hard-pressed to find a description of "wigwags" in the AIM Chapter 2.

They are the flashing yellow hold short lights

A slang term for a woman's "ta-tas, gazabas,who-ha's, flesh pillows, melons, knockers, hooters, jugs, bazongas, Wig Wags" etc.

They are doing work on rwy 9/27. It has been closed for a while now, the wigwags are the yellow hold short lights, wouldn't be surprised to see them out with the construction..... stuck in training, so I haven't heard the ATIS yet.

Wig/Wag comes from the lites we use on emergency cars/trucks. Its headlights that sequence back and forth (left/right). Great for getting folks attention during the day, but kinda distracting at night. In aviation, yes, it's the yellow hold short lights which work pretty much the same way.

It seems to be an accepted term in ICAO documentation, but doesn't turn up in FAA documentation - but lets be clear - I haven't done an exhaustive search of either!
