Great CFI Jobs

So since most people at the regionals are cfi's I'm looking for some advice. I'm looking for the best cfi jobs in the country. I've been looking at the cfi job in glendale arizona at flight safety academy(which I applied to with no call back) and one at CIA in california both because I have free housing in both areas. I'm looking for a busy school where I can get a quick 500 hours and some multi time. I just wanted to get your guys opinion on what are some great flight schools that you worked for. My currenty situation being an airport manager at a small indiana airport is just to slow i'm instructing about 2 hours a week. So I've decided to bite the bullet and instruct at a bigger school so I can get to the regionals my current times are 450/65 and I havent flown in 2 weeks :(. Thanks for your help and hopefully I can find a new job and get on with this hiring boom.

Look in to Las Vegas. My friend works there and he logged over 100 hours last month. The weather there for the next nine months will be perfect as well, just get out before summer.

Back in summer 2000, I worked for Dulles Aviation in Washington DC (It's the biggest 141 school in the Northern VA area). It was a good privately owned school (not a pilot mill). Paid well (for the time- don't know about now), had good owners, and I logged a lot of good time (Averaged 120 hrs a month during the nice weather season).

Check out FIT Aviation on the east coast of florida. Great school, affiliated with reputable college (Florida Tech). Pay is now good there, cost of living is low, good work ethic and quality of life. They are looking for people!

Check out Pan Am International Flight Academy (Deer Valley Apt, KDVT) and Sabena (Scottsdale Apt, KSDL) in PHX; also look at IATA (Ryan Apt, KRYN) in Tucson. AZ has year round flying weather with plenty of really cool places to fly. I instructed at Pan Am for over a year. I average 105 hours a month of flight time with a few months over 125 hours. They pay well and they have a Level 5 CRJ-200 FTD along with a Level D full motion King Air sim. Instructors get free time in the CR2 sim with the ability to sit in on the CR2 systems ground school. Pan Am has around 80 a/c (all Piper) in their fleet with most being Piper Seminoles (the Archers and Arrows all have air-conditioning). All of the a/c are relatively new and their Mx department has won awards, the last 4 years running, state and nation wide for excellence.

Pan Am has international contracts with 5 Chinese Airlines, Korean Airlines and KLM. If you add their FAA students to the mix then their yearly total of students will reach around 500+.

Currently they are starving for instructors. Another friend of mine was hired their as a CFI, he didn't have his CFII or MEI. He signed a one year contract and negotiated his CFII for FREE and his MEI at half price.

THEY NEED INSTRUCTORS.

Has anyone heard on sierra they have free room for their instructors. any other places like that. I'm going to be eating mac and cheese to pay my 1200 student loan payment anyway so free housing is a plus.

I flew out of CMA with Channel Islands Aviation and I really enjoyed it. I have continued to use them for renting aircraft as well. Also, one of my good friends was recently working there and said he was very busy and loved the whole work environment. New planes and good pay. Plus, it is Southern California and with free housing, that's golden

one at CIA in california
I know Sarah, the manager at CIA. She is an extremely high quality individual and runs a top notch organization. Her school was the recipient of one of only two nationwide Cessna Pilot Center Diamond Award for Excellence...presented by the national manager of Cessna's CPC division.

That's sort of a big deal. There's 300 or so CPCs nationwide and hers was recognized as one of the 2 best.

She told me that she really needs CFIs and in an effort to keep good folks around, she pays for additional ratings.

She's a class act. It's where I'd want to work if I lived in California.
