DCI CR9 in the woods at CLT
 

Today during the landing rollout on 36L in CLT, we spotted a DCI CRJ-900 in the woods at a hangar to the left (west) of the runway. I couldn't spot the airline on it though. Anyone know who this could be? Who's hangar is this? It's not charted on the Jepps

Well I know it exists. I saw it with my own eyes. I'm wondering whose hangar it is and whose CR9 it is.
Comair's new CR9s (they're up to 3 now) get delivered YMX-BTV-CVG usually.

Google-Satellite is not real-time...could have been taken months or even years ago (before anybody started flying CR9's) LoL

Okay, let me rephrase. I just landed on 36L in CLT. During rollout I saw a DCI CR9 at the above mentioned hangar. Does anyone have any information on whose hangar this is or whose plane this could be?

I believe it's mesa's. i know this because it was a mesa CRJ 900 ending with the FJ tail number that made me go-around on that runway a few months back. They were told to hold short the runway and in true mesa or mechanic fashion never responded, or looked out the left side of the window to see a airplane that was on a half mile final. Needless to say they turned on the runway (know head on to us landing) and made us GA. The funny part was watching a 900 make that turn on to the tight access road going way to fast. Thankfully the FO was sharp and proceeded with the bulked landing procedure (less than 100 ft. above the runway)

yeah that taxiway entrance is half as$ed. did mesa tell tower about the left turnoff? how considerate of them, as they proceed up the hill to the crappy hangar, probably over block and not getting paid that that point.

Yes, that is mesa's hangar use to be CC Air's old hangar designed for junkstreams...

I don't think mesa has DAL 900's yet, and when they get them they will probably have tail numbers ending in "LR". All of the "FJ" tail numbers are older airplanes that are in the US Airways system...and they are not likely to get any more FJ tail numbers :rolleyes:

That's a mesa hangar. Are you sure it wasn't an America West paint job on that 900 you saw?

Delta owns these aircraft, correct? Hopefully they can pull them form Mesa when Mesa admits they can't staff them.
