Default Updated Regional Hiring Minimums

As a sign that regional hiring will not stop anytime soon, two of the "better" airlines that have had relatively high minimums have recently lowered their minimums. Both American Eagle and Horizon have lowered theirs minimums in the past week. Also, this has not been advertised, but it looks like Republic lowered their minimums to 800/100 recently.

Colgan's and Great Lakes minimums never cease to amuse me. Why do they even post minimums that are three times the amount that people off the street are getting hired at? I mean, we're not even talking JetU etc grads, we're talking 250 hour uncontrolled FBO comm/multi pilot.

TSA commerical/multi
http://www.transstates.net/careers.html#pilots

Pilots
FAA commercial pilot's license with instrument and multi-engine ratings

Competitive Minimums

500 total hours fixed wing

50 hours multi-engine

A current first class FAA medical Certificate

Education - HS graduate required, 2 years associate degree or equivalent is preferred

Current valid passport

In addition, TSA is becoming picky about hiring anyone in the last two months, I guess we are becoming the shizzz now. lol

Oh just wondering, Why did you have Trans States Airlines as the last one on the line? I know we are your India based Call Center, but I think based on the hours we should be right above ASA. You can tell I have nothing to do this afternoon!!!! Back to Laundry I have to work today...

I just called Horizon and the lady I talked to (Karen) said that the 750/50 is for UND grads and their minimums are still 1000/100.

Hmm... That's interesting. It was 750/50 this morning. I saw it with my own two eyes (I swear). I have seen this number thrown around elsewhere too. I wonder what the real minimums are? Thank you for pointing this out.

Competitive minimums are not the minimum. This post is the minimum hours one can be hired with at an airline. At TSA, according to their website, their minimums are commercial/multi. That is why they are at the bottom.
