Frontier's Lynks any latest and greatest?
Just wondering if anyone has any new news on Frontiers Lynx. I know they were supposed to be up and running by now and that they are having problems with getting their certificate, but does anyone have any info what their new projected start time is?

Heard a rumor of early spring startup the other day...just a rumor, so take it with about a 50 lb. bag of salt.

Too Tall did you apply there too?

Are they still paying $43.75 an hour for captain on a 74 seat aircraft??:mad::mad:

Nothing new other than they are still working on certification. The schedule they were aiming for was pretty ambitious in any case. They didn't really start working on it until early this year, so hoping they could get it done in less than a year with the FAA we all know and love was optimistic.
From what I've read here on other posts, I'd guess late this year at the earliest. BTW, Ryan, where are you getting that $43.75/hr number? All I've seen is the $50/hr number on careerbuilder. Checko |

Checko I think places tend to round up when advertising pay. For instance, some may put $30hr when its really $28 and change. Don't know though. |

Hate to call you out but let's discuss your current position. If I remember correctly, in a previous post you said you are part time right seat in a King Air. You supplement this "job" by working in another career field. I would assume that your benefits (health insurance, retirement, etc) are provided by your other career. You look at your "job" in the King Air as a time building opportunity. As a pilot who spent over five years in corporate aviation, this hurts aviation. Rather then corporate flight departments offering appropriate pay and benefits for a starting position, pilots' come along and take the job as a time building opportunity. This undercuts the industry as a whole. My intent is not to be overly harsh. However, I do hope you get my point. As a young man starting out in the right seat of a King Air, I would encourage you to ask a few more questions, rather then telling those of us in the airline industry what it is like. |
AMEN! Thank you sir, may he have another!
