The difference is that these bonuses you are aware of are all through the unions in agreement with the company. They can't do anything with money or working conditions no matter what it is unless they go through the union first and get their agreement. Assuming they have been in mediation this long, it's likely this could take forever (literally).

Because its a violation of Status Quo. The union can't unilaterally toss aside federal law and precedent, and the company cannot either.

Go read up on the Railway Labor Act and collective bargaining, Mr. Hotshot Anti-Union Airline Pilot guy...it might do you some good.
