Well we now know why 9E management is mad at us!!

so management wrote us a dirty letter. actually the letter was intended for all the workers at pinnacle so they would know that the pilots are about to cause the company to go belly up. "Our pilots where asking for Express Jet rates plus 3%, which isn't competitive and led directly to Express Jet having 60 planes pulled by Continental". hahahahaha,, i have rampers asking me all the time now why we want to cause the place to go bankrupt. most of them however support us and know what they are hearing are the same lies management was telling them almost a year ago when we were going to have to close the doors because "northwest wouldn't sign a deal with us till the pilots had a contract".... our mec is going to start a information campaign to inform all pinnacle employees of the truth, and not just the scare tactics management is trying to put on us,, when i get home i will post the letter on here so you all can see how down right sneaky management is trying to be.

that's exactly what the Colgan wrote in one of their anti-ALPA propaganda newsletters. direct quote:

"We understand that the MEC at ExpressJet has communicated with our pilots boasting about their wages and success of ALPA representation. What they did not tell you is that due to the high costs incurred by ExpressJet for those wages, Continental decided to take away 69 airplanes of flying from ExpressJet and give it to Chautauqua, a non-ALPA carrier which had much more reasonable costs. They also did not tell you that another high cost ALPA carrier, Atlantic Coast (which later became Independence Air), went out of business and all of its pilots were furloughed. Nor did they tell you that Air Wisonsin, another high cost carrier, lost its business at United to Mesa, a low-cost carrier."

I guess we do work for the same company after all!
:(

This is a disgrace, Im telling you guys time is up, either we all take a stand or we go down in flames with the company, I for one am all for burning the place down if they dont treat us like humans and pay us accordingly...............

I love the email from Colgans classy management, you guys wonder why I want to throw-up in my mouth when I say the word "Colgan" I hope you guys are proud of whos running your airline over there.........

newarkblows 10-30-2007 12:30 PM

Who the hell are you trying to be competitive with? mesa? they cant staff appropriately to do the flying they already have. God forbid your employees get a pay increase somewhere near inflationary levels and a couple benefits. so if you guys had asked for CHQ pay rates + 3% this would be better? what a crock of....

Yea Saab... i thought you loved Colgan ( now ducking for cover )......

Pilot41 10-30-2007 01:33 PM

With out getting you guys too wound up, if the Colgan's, Mesa's, etc are so bad why not go somewhere else? Seems most everyone is hiring, with your qualifications it shouldn't be hard at all to find a better place to park yourself.

The stupid thing about that quote is that the whole CHQ thing with CO had nothing to do with money, but instead had everything to do with taking power away from XJT. And even though CHQ is non-ALPA, they are still represented by a union, the Teamster's IINM. As for ACA, they went out of business because MANAGEMENT stupidly tried to go head-to-head with United with sky-high CASM RJ's. And Air Whiskey's pay and work rules are still the envy of many of us.
It's funny how the clowns who run these airlines will be so quick to say how they need to give millions in bonuses to "retain talent". Yet they don't see the same correlation of paying above poverty level when recruiting "talent" in the cockpit.

(Deep breath)

(Steps down off soapbox)
