RAH Bases (again...)

Just got back from IND and was offered the 145 from CHQ with an 11/16 class date. I think I read a thread back in September that said the junior bases were STL and BUF. Is this still true?

I cant really speak on CHQ, but you should check out www.republicpilots.org. You will get a lot more help over there.

Yes, they're both junior.

Gotcha (and this makes it not too short)

DOH for most junior FO in the 145 bases for the November bid period:

BUF - 08-28-07
CMH - 08-28-07
GSO - 08-28-07
LGA - 08-28-07
STL - 07-25-07
CVG - 07-25-07
IND - 06-06-07
SDF - 06-06-07

We are getting ready to see A LOT of movement after this next bid is awarded, so you should be able to get any of the bases very quick. The 135's start getting phased out in the fall of 08 so CVG might shrink/close around that time. Who knows though.

STL is the way to go trust me. The CAL and AA flying are much more efficient with more commutable trips. Also the DOH for the most junior FO doesn't really say much. BUF is pretty senior. So is LGA, GSO, IND, SDF. STL is the largest so there is quicker senority movement. I know some people that never sat reserve there. I think the least amount of days off someone got in STL is like 13-14 days which you won't get in CMH and I've been in CMH since April. I just changed to STL and now have nothing but commutable trips, more days off, and no change of time zone. Life is already better.

amen brotha, was based in SDF for 11months and CVG for 6, the trips were not efficient at all, been in STL since July and must say the trips are far and away better than any other base

yeah i live in SDF and bid reserve and I am actually considering commuting to STL just because the trips are better and I would get more credit and more time off even while commuting. I am going to wait and see how this upgrade effects the movement for FOs and I might bid STL around february. I am just a little worried i might not be able to get back in SDF if I need too! But yeah the point is if you just have to "pick a base" here at CHQ, STL is by far the best base to be at for the bling and time off! Cheers!

Awesome. So where are people commuting to STL from?

ToiletDuck 11-03-2007 06:46 PM

I'll be going from Houston. Let just say that in my bid I put to award trips strating after 11am and end before 7pm. I wanted 3 or 4 day trips with average daily credits above 5.5hrs. I asked for a few specific days off and I managed to get all of it.
