Pinnacle Delta Routes

someone brought this up on our message board and i was curious what you guys thought. I guess our first flight in december will be ATL-IAH and ATL-HOU.

When you look up the flights this is what it says.

Delta 2001
CRJ 900
operated by Pinnacle Dba Delta Air Lines
In-Flight Services

notice the DBA delta airlines...

whats up with that. We are the only one that has that in there,, the rest just say.

Delta 6461
Embraer 170
operated by Shuttle America
In-Flight Services

all the onther regionals that fly for delta just say operated by, but ours says operated by pinnacle DBA delta airlines.

did they buy us when i wasn't looking or what?

yes dba means doing business as, but why would ours be the only one that says that? wouldn't everyone else say DBA also?

like in the wikipedia page you sited..i changed the names to make it easier to understand.

DBA statements are often necessary with a franchise, where the franchisee may be something like The Doctors Associates, but business is done under the brand name the public would recognize, such as Subway. The legal name of the franchise may then be something like "The Doctors Associates, dba Subway Restaurants".

See what i am saying. The doctors associates is the main company, but they run and own the subway chain. So we are operating under the name delta because that is what people would recognize, but are we part of the company??? also noted is that on the side of our 900's there is no "Connection" or any other phrase like that.

I believe big D is doing that with all regional aircraft painted in the new scheme. It is meant to blur the distinction between mainline and regional partner.

yeah, scarry. like i said in my previous post, we don't have connection, or shuttle or anything else on our plane except DELTA

It has nothing to do with blurring Delta/Delta Connection. On the right (FO's) side of the 900, the emergency door gets in the way. Check any of Comair's 900's. It says Connection on the left, not the right.

The only thing they are doing to blur the distinction is making the airline logo much much smaller on the nose.
