Cape Air in Oregon

I just read that Cape Air is starting service between PDX and the coast. Does anyone know about this?

I learned about this over a year ago. A friend worked for them in the Guam operation mentioned it to me. Any ideas how often and to what cities? I move back to PDX in 2 weeks. :) Might make it easier to get to the coast then driving.

They sent me some application info, think they want a 18 month contract though.

I heard the other two cities will be Newport and Astoria.

Might not be a bad gig if you want to live on the West Coast and probably be home every night. Don't they pay more than 1st year F/O regional pay?

Sounds like a decent gig, but they'd certainly make you earn your keep. Windy, rugged and with only a sliver of land in pretty much constant IMC in 402s...

Man, I miss the Oregon coast.

Sounds like a Cape Air route if I ever heard of one. The OR project has been waiting in the wings for a couples years. Cape Air has been courted a few times and I think if the deal were right we would be there. Pay definately better than Regional 1st year FO, home every night, and good people. Our new IND routes start Tuesday. Rutland is up and running; we are growing, but certainely could use some more pilots.
