Default Should Kill Bill Stay on the Forum?

Since I have been invited off the forum by a couple of the more, uh, "sensitive" types, I thought I'd put it out for a vote.

Whatever you guys decide is jake by me.

In case some of you are wondering what in hell this is about, I'll summarize:

- I don't like PFT or PFT pilots; they are helping to destroy the profession.

- I've sat reserve for most of my 20 year big-airline career and those who complain about 6 months on reserve don't get much sympathy from me.

- Guys who don't know what "paying dues" is all about or use PFT to circumvent dues paying don't get my respect, either.

- "Pilots" with 300 hours telling me what's what and how I don't know what I'm talking about don't cut any ice with me.

Now, that about sums it up.

It's up to you.

The poll is open for 7 days and your screen name will be shown along with your vote. No hiding behind mommie's skirts.

Bill,

There is lot of crap I disagree with you on, and that is exactly the reason I think you should stay. Remember, freedom of speech is supposed to protect that which you don't necessarily agree with. I say "stay", darn it. The more counter opinions there are, the more objective (read that as useful) this site will be.

Respectfully,

kill bill you're a CAL pilot right. Have you been there for the past 20 years? I know you know where I'm going with this but I have to ask the question anyway. Are you a scab? I am assuming that you aren't because that would be the grand pooh bah of them all for dragging down the industry.

just for curiousity what is an acceptable dues paying timeline from once you get your commercial multi.

Tell the sensivie types to get over it and go take a course on not being so sensitive. now wheres my mega margarita!

I enjoy reading your posts and appreciate what you've contributed to the forum. Stay dammit.

That being said, after I voted "yes" my IE locked up and crashed my computer and wouldn't reboot..

that's a fair question and the answer is, "no", i'm not a scab. i'm an '87 hire. and to answer your other unspoken question, i went to CO because nobody else would hire me at the time. i learned from experience that airline hiring is weird; no one knows why some get hired and some don't. i'm sure it was my attitude. i also was one of the members of the original ALPA organizing committee back in 1991 (or so), the first time we tried to get a union back on the property since lorenzo broke the unions.

as far as time is concerned, there's a reason why you need 1500 to get an ATP. frankly, 300 hour guys in the right seat of any airplane with passengers makes me nervous. i would favor a minimum of around 1200 or so to fly for a 121 operator. even then, it would depend greatly on the quality of time. i came up through a fairly typical route for pilots of my age; flight instructing for about 3 years, a couple of small charter jobs, a corporate job flying an aerostar, grand canyon tours, a small commuter, a small freight job and finally CO. i had about 5500 TT when i was hired at CO. even then, i spent 7.5 years in the back seat of 727's and DC-10's watching and learning.

it's a carry-over from the regional forum. i realized after i posted the poll here it was in the wrong spot. i've asked the moderators to move it. if they can't i'll delete it here and repost it.
