ASA CEO announces his retirement

Any inside info on this? Just got the email earlier today. Just wondering who JA has in mind to replace him???????????

ExperimentalAB 11-08-2007 11:33 AM

Probably JA himself haha...

ATRsteve 11-08-2007 11:40 AM

He didn't like the new travel benefits...

Just seems a bit coincidental that he retires shortly after the T/A is reached, and a few days after Skywest votes to remain non-union.........what could be next?

JA writes.........

"As Bryan shared with you earlier today, he has also informed me of his intent to retire from ASA.
It is clear to me that this decision was a difficult one, but one that I respect.
I hired Bryan as president and chief operating officer of ASA in September 2005 because of his
many successes not only within the ASA family as senior vice president of Operations, but within
the greater Delta culture.
Stepping into his presidency shortly following SkyWest, Inc.’s acquisition of ASA was a challenge,
but it was one that Bryan eagerly accepted. His can-do attitude and zeal for the ASA family meant
that initiatives like the Performance Plus program and the Employee Stock Purchase Program
were introduced to help improve ASA people’s quality of life. He also initiated the Operational
Excellence Program last year that resulted in the steady improvement of ASA’s performance to
the point that our company’s bag numbers reached single digits for the first time in years and our
on-time Department of Transportation (DOT) ranking reached its highest level in ASA’s history.
It is because of the respect that I have for Bryan and for what he has been able to accomplish at
ASA, that I have asked him to stay on through to the New Year, or until such time that an
appropriate candidate can be identified and appointed to become ASA’s next president.
Fortunately, Bryan has agreed to continue to oversee ASA’s day-to-day operation until then.
As a team, you have proven your resilience and flexibility in the face of many challenges
throughout ASA’s history, but in particular over the past two years. Today, all of our combined
efforts need to remain focused on exceeding the expectations of our passengers and business
partners like never before. The opportunity for greatness at ASA is real and I am committed to
identifying a new leader who will build on ASA’s strong foundation and take this airline to new
heights quickly and efficiently.
Thank you for all your efforts to make ASA great.
- Jerry"

X's and O's..........let's all have a group hug......

I meant to quote the question, "Who takes over now.." but it was a
small joke for the SkyWest folk on here....
He's the guy that Chip Childs replaced at SkyWest, President and COO

something must be up here at ASA for him to retire, the other guy up in mgmnt retired a couple weeks ago and now LeBreque is gone, it will be interesting to see what is going to go on here.....the TA looks like it will pass, not by as much as earlier thought, but it will pass.....we will have to wait and see here.
