Why don't they just say 400 and 50 then????

Amazing...this chain reaction is going to force Wisconsin, XJET and Republic to drop their mins. As of colgan, piedmont and others, it seems like their new requierments are going to be only...the wish to become a pilot...lol

I wouldnt bet on XJT and RAH lowering mins just yet. XJT is only hiring for attrition right now... and RAH has plenty of apps which meet their current mins..... who knows what the future holds. AE is in a different position than the these companies as they had LONG LONG upgrade times and that is killing them.

I found this article on another website, and I wonder if they are lowering them 1) cause they are short now, 2) they are ordering new airplanes....

American Eagle and Executive Employees:
I have several pieces of good news to share today.
First, as you may have heard, a tentative agreement has been reached between the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), the Allied Pilots Association (APA), American and American Eagle regarding the outstanding grievances over Letter 3 to the ALPA-Eagle Collective Bargaining Agreement. This was a complicated and sensitive set of discussions on topics of importance to all four parties. A detailed description of the tentative agreement will be provided to our pilots. Some of the major points of the tentative agreement are that:
The expiration of the "Flow Through/Flow Back" agreement will be extended until the last Eagle pilot with an AA seniority number has exercised his/her right to move to American Airlines
A substantial number of Eagle pilots who do not have AA seniority numbers will be offered the ability to receive them
AA's furloughed pilots will be offered the opportunity to return to AA before Eagle's pilots with AA seniority numbers
While AA pilots will be offered furlough protection, the number of Eagle positions available to furloughed AA pilots will be limited to the number of Eagle pilots who were awarded AA seniority numbers in 2001 or prior and who are still flying at Eagle
The negotiations leading to this tentative agreement included a discussion of additional flying by Eagle as a means of partially addressing Eagle pilot concerns over deferring the recall of Eagle pilots with AA seniority numbers. I am pleased to report that as a result of these four party discussions, Eagle will, subject to AMR Board approval and Eagle's ability to arrange financing, exercise our option to purchase twenty five CRJ-700s.
These aircraft -- provided for under the scope clause in the AA/APA collective bargaining agreement -- will deliver valuable feed for the AA network and will be good for Eagle and our people. As a result of the need to receive AMR Board approval, arrange financing, negotiate final terms with Bombardier and the fact that there is currently an 18- to 24-month backlog for these aircraft, I anticipate the first delivery in late 2009, with the bulk of the new aircraft arriving in 2010.
I am pleased that we were able to find a way to address the legitimate concerns of all the parties and believe that this agreement is a positive step in Eagle's Plan to Win. The tentative agreement is consistent with all three of our major strategies to "Retain AA as a Customer," "Position Eagle for Growth," and "Align Employee Interests."
