I don't know where this 1 1/2 year rumor came from, but it is not based on fact, and is doing no good to help pilots vote the way they should. Yes, the Federal mediators have been doing a terrible job under this pro-business, anti-labor administration, but nothing worthwhile gets done easily. Management wants to finally play ball because Delta is tired of the abysmal performance of ASA. They can't fill their newhire classes (who can?) so that gives us the leverage. It doesn't take that long to fix the TA. ASA pilots voted down our current contract the first time, but most of you haven't been around that long. Learn from history and experience, not speculation and rumors.

O come on, thats only a feeling, it was a half educated guess at best. Definitely not a rumor. To think that kind of statement would sway any votes at this hour, the day before voting ends, is a bit much:cool:

I thought we had put this to rest. That's the definition of a rumor in that it's something inflammatory that gets spread around and people start believing it. A lot of pilots procrastinate till the last minute as for the vote, and I know a lot of them are still on the fence.

Guys, I believe in this so strongly that I would be turning down the approximately $12,000 signing bonus to see this TA improved. (and you F/O's deserve a lot more of that 13.5 million BTW)

Ok who knows how long it would truly take. I am officially killing the rumor before it takes flight.

It is possible that some of the negotiating committee members and MEC members are trying to grab as much of that signing bonus money as they can, and have plans to jump ship immediately after. I don't mean to falsely accuse anyone, but its something to consider. We may need to recall them before its all over like Airtran.

I see your point but getting the overwhelming majority of ASA FO's to buy in will be next to impossible seeing they stand to make more from the pay increase, rigs and they're minuscule portion if the $13.5M than they would waiting another 8-12 months for the next vote. Remember it’s the “me” generation and they’re not thinking about next year or the year after, just about what fills their pockets today.

As far as the length of time it will take to rework the TA and take it to another vote………I don't know but something tells me it won't happen right away.

But I'm not Mgmnt.

Preaching to the choir, my friend. When I first came on the forums I thought we would talk about aviation subjects, and it turns out I spend more time talking about philosophy trying to convince younger and/or newer pilots about the merits of unity, brotherhood, character, principle and such uncool things.

I didnt think it would pass by more than 70%, but 81% says that alot more than just FO's turned out to vote in favor.
