Default Any Current Q400 Pilots on Here?

Just curious about bags, headsets, etc. advice you guys/girls might have. Should be up in the Q come January, so I want to get some stuff, but don't want to get the wrong stuff.

Thanks!

This is what i use. Pretty strong bag and fits perfectly in the 400. Free shipping and now 20% off.

Awesome, thanks! By any chance are you using a full headset like a DC or is it quiet enough to wear the smaller telex 850 type headset?

Opt for the full headset. It's borderline under normal conditions, you COULD get away with a jet pilot's headset - but then you'll get an 8 hour day flying a bird with the ANVS inop and you'll be using the craptastic over-the-ear Telex backup headsets. Dunno that a noise canceling headset is necessary, I used a Peltor Sport LE for 3.5 yrs and that provided enough passive noise reduction so far as I was concerned.

It's just as quiet as a CRJ cockpit, so I think you could be fine with a lightweight. Then again, check my name and you'll realize why maybe I just don't hear some of the noise!

I'd go full headset too. There are guys who wear the lightweight telex, usually with earplugs and volume cranked as loud as it will go. Even then they miss radio calls and most of my jokes. I have an ANR headset and it rocks. G'luck!

I have the Bose and have been using it for about 3 years now so that is definately the one I would go with. If I thought like spending some money for no reason I would really like to try the lightspeed Mach 1 with the earmolds but who knows.

I havent flown it yet but I know the bose will work..ill cross that bridge when I get there
