For the Colgan guys
 
Just caught wind that our corporate headquarters will be moving soon to some big offices in downtown memphis. along with that colgans headquarters in virginia will be closing and moving to memphis too. have you guys heard that on your end?

I'm down here in initial training and they haven't said anything along those lines. Some functions have moved to Memphis, but I believe the Manassas office is remaining open for the forseeable future.

Mike Colgan is moving his office to Memphis as his 'title' has changed. That's about it...

1st Q 2008 all MX and Flt Ops are moving from MNZ to IAD. That will be the start of the end of MNZ. It was on the Pinnacle 3rd Q earnings call. Public information, not rumor.

yes, that part isn't rumor. the rumor i am refering to would involve all dispatchers, schedulers, etc, etc to move to memphis or lose their jobs.. thats the rumor i am referring to.

Considering what most regionals pay their schedulers and dispatchers, you might need to start hiring in MEM. I still don't understand why airlines haven't figured out virtual office for the SOC minions. Except for a few key staff, its a great position to do from home. You are communicating over distances with most of your job anyway.

Thats all we need, our management dodging bullets in Memphis on the way to work daily. I think that would be a bad move. If youve seen where Pinnacle is based you would understand. I used to work sales in those areas and had to conc. carry to give me the stride to walk around and not get jacked or mugged. Memphis is a great safe luxurious town that all should visit and spend time living in (Blatant Sacrasm intended)

dowtown is actually pretty safe. it is a lot safer than where the headquarters is now. not to many, if any, pilots live in memphis. we all live in south haven, olive branch, germantown, collierville, and bartlett. the memphis area is home to hundreds, if not thousands of pilots. I like it here, but i don't live in memphis. talk to almost any pinnacle pilot that lives in the memphis area and they can tell you of at least 2 fedex guys, 2 nwa guys, and 2 other pinnacles that live either on their same street or really close by.
