Question about titling logbooks
 

I was wondering what you guys title your logbooks for the open category/class section of the jeppesen professional logbooks. Before my commercial checkride I used the small jeppesen, but after I decided to end the end the logbook without filling it up entirely to buy the professional larger one so I could add sections for jet time since it was not in my previous book. I have 3 spots that I can name so I was thinking about jet, turbo-prop, and am unsure for the third. What did you pros do with titles for the blank spots? Thanks,

For mine I have: Complex, High Performance, Turbine. They pretty much cover everything that you will be flying from now on.

I added complex and turbine. I have my logbook entered into an Excel spreadsheet that calculates everything from PIC in a particular aircraft to total night instruction received.

Also, you could put turbo-fan to correspond with turbo-prop.. just looks more uniform, but it's your story book not mine :).

Did you write the programming to total the various columns and info? Or is it a commercial sheet?

I created the formulas myself. Some of the "SUMIF" formulas took a while to work out.

The workbook consists of 5 worksheets:

- One sheet that looks like a traditional logbook with all the columns
- One sheet that totals about 30 different things ranging from TT to past 6 month turbine to cross country time where I was the instructor. (great for insurance and 8710 forms)
- One sheet totaling TT, PIC, Dual, As instructor, XC, et cetera in make and model.
- One sheet to log endorsements I have given.
- One of my travel expense tax deductions for the year.

Ummm... let me get this straight. I have no life because I created a logbook in Excel. You are simply incredible, I am amazed at how you connected the dots that are my life without actually seeing them; can you see in the dark also? :p

I'm thinking of turbo-prop, jet, and complex. Wouldn't interviewers be concerned on what time of turbine experience (jet vs. turbo-pro) or does it not matter to them? Just want to make sure that I add the right titles from the beggining because I take pride in making sure my logbook looks professional. Thanks for the responses.

Don't all worked up with how the logbook looks as far as titles go. I'm got hired at ASA and Express Jet all my resume said was turbine time and so did my logbook. Recruiters know if you fly multi-engine airplanes you'll most likely have complex time. Again my logbook has just turbine time wrote in an empty column.
The application is where everything gets broken down between "jet and turboprop". Look at Pinnacles website under careers. Go to pilots and they have the all of required paperwork there. Look at the general application or even time grid and you'll see what I'm talking about.
