Even though we don't have a "legally enforceable" contract, they do abide by what is in writing. The saddest thing is that every pilot I have talked to doesn't even know the policies or try to find them out!

For example...

I am flying with a three-year CA and he doesn't want to pick up a trip out of open time, not a drop by another pilot, but out of open time. I asked why, he says because it only has one leg on the last day worth 1 hour. I said you get the 3:45 guarantee if it is in open time, regardless of what it says on trip details. He says, "I don't think so". I say, "yes, I have been in this situation, bla bla bla". Then the CA I flew with the other day was telling about how he picked up two hours of flying on his days off coming up. I asked if it was in open time or a drop request, and he didn't know. If it is in open time, you get paid for 3:45 and he didn't know that. He has been at SkyWest 7 years!

Then, the training dept. was sending people out of domicile for IOE. However, they were not paying us for being TDY-ed. We get paid for the DH and it should have been part of our duty day. I asked about it and it ended up being 12 extra hours of pay for me. I told my friends about it and they had no clue. SkyWest pilots would be too lazy to even read a contract if we had one. Anyways, I know you ALPA guys at least know how to read a contract.

Nah actually training is going from 75 (Reserve Gurantee) x Pay Rate, to $300 a week.

Well all of us in the current training class that started on Monday are now still going to get the 75 hour guarantee x pay rate, but now we just get it at $23/hr rate. I know this is true because the two ALPA reps told us this at the free pizza get together after our first day of Indoc.

Guess the guys who start in the next class are getting the cold shoulder.

Yeah thats me! So let me ask you this then. If its $300/Wk thats roughly 1200 bucks, well the 75 hr gaurantee is close to the same right....or am I missing something?

Not that big of a diff...........only about $525. Guarantee 75X23=$1725. Unless I missed something as well. Heck it's only $225 less per month than the old rate at 19/hr when I went through.

Hey $525 is quite a bit of money if you ask me.

Plus all of us in the training class also benefit from the signing bonus even though it was like for two days so I don't think it adds up to very much. lol

I love how only the top 10% of ATR FOs can get bypass pay. Thats only 5 FOs! This totally screws it up for everyone #10'ish (keep in mind not everyone wants the 700) on the list and below. Hopefully the duty rigs will makeup for that $4k cut, yeah right.

The question is will they audit the current folks getting the 700 bypass or will this only affect those who first get bypassed after probation.

Guess the number one bragging right of the ATR over the 200 is going out the window for most folks. N2M when will they honor more 700 awards?
