"Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to quell any rumors about SkyWest, Inc. merging Atlantic Southeast Airlines and SkyWest Airlines. The SkyWest, Inc. Board of Directors continues to strongly believe that operating ASA and SkyWest as independent carriers is the best course of action for both airlines’ success."

We can all breath easy now... lol

How do the ASA guys feel about this one? Personally I think it's a good thing for ASA.

mohaupt 11-21-2007 08:05 AM

I have a nap tonight, I will ask around. I guess we will all have an opinion by February next year for sure.

blablabla said he had insider info that if we didn't vote in alpa we would be stapled to the bottom of asa's list.

Brad Holt isn't some push-over like Brian was, he gets things done one way or another.

Uncle Rico! You think BH can throw a pig skin over 1/4 mile?

ChinookDriver47 11-21-2007 08:33 AM

Lmfao....!!!!!!

ShakenBake 11-21-2007 08:38 AM

My apologies for passing him on to our brothers at ASA. He is definately not a pilot-friendly leader. Best of luck to you guys. I am glad he is leaving here though, I just wish you guys didn't have to put up with his crap.

Get a life. Regional pilots could care less. Get in, get time and get out.

You're staying at SKY for life?

Get a life? allright then..... just asked how the ASA guys felt. And if you, as a RJ pilot don't care, then you aren't being very smart. Most everyone spends at LEAST four years at a RJ carrier, and many have to spend longer. I suspect most RJ pilots do care.

As for whether or not I'm staying at SkyWest for life... at this moment I don't plan on staying here for the long run, but seeing as I don't have any PIC turbine, I'm not really in a position to be looking at majors any time soon.

reelbigchair 11-21-2007 12:21 PM

I guess I shouldn't have said RJ pilot, considering you're an ATR driver, but my point remains the same.

flybywire44 11-21-2007 01:10 PM

You said "I think its good for ASA." So I say get a life. It won't make a difference. Regional management has their hands tied to their main line carriers and their investors. SKY Inc makes the shots, thats why Jerry got his hands slapped by our contract mediator towards the end of our contract when he over extended some influence.

A new puppet will change nothing. Now if they change out Jerry then that will be something to talk about. When did SKY hire you?

Jerry may have the final say about something, but I believe Brad will have a larger role than you're painting him in.
hired 8/06 why?? (previously furloughed TSA)

Proptrash 11-21-2007 09:48 PM

[extreme sarcasm] I guess it's time for the ASA guys to have a turn dealing "Captain Holt an ace". I bet you guys can't wait to fly 70's for the same rate as the 50. Then, you too, can be industry leading. [/extreme sarcasm]

I agree. I learned at least that much from my internship there in Feb 06, and now he's over here. I can only hope that I won't be on this side of SKYW inc for long

I don't think Brad Holt is the best SkyWest guy to go over there, but I do think the fact that SkyWest is putting SkyWest people in charge is a good thing for you guys. Everyone's always complaining about being the red headed step child, maybe this will change that. But I'm always the optimist.

Read headed step child syndrome is sweeping through the ranks of ASA. I had to call in sick for it the other day.

Again, everyone at ASA could careless bro. Like SKY, most of our pilots care about hours and moving on.

No more Kool Aid for you.

SKY's a European airline, I believe you're referring to SKYW better known as SKW.

As for BH, ASA can have him. He's a true Mgmnt pilot that will only do EXACTLY what JA wants him to. He has no balls but he’ll rule ASA with JA’s heavy hand. I do think it’s good for ASA but better for SKW.

I think everyone knew what he was talking about. I guess we can never miss an oppurtinity to correct someone.

berge7f9 11-24-2007 05:53 AM

that would be him, are you RB? or BP?

I guess I'd be pretty pessimistic if I flew the ATR for ASA, too...

It was a simple correction and I did not attack him in anyway. I have no problems with the occational mistake, we all make them.

The ATR was on my bid sheet POPA.

The most entertaining thing to me is when pilots correct controllers on the radio rather than just letting their obvious mistakes go as controllers normally do with do with pilots.
