Cheap hotels in DCA area? (AWAC interview)
I'm going for my AWAC interview next week Thursday and was wondering where to stay. Hopefully one that give out discounts to pilots. I'll be in the DCA area the morning prior to my interview on 11/29.
What I do need:
- Close to DCA airport
- SAME DAY dry cleaners?? (need to make sure my shirt and pants are pressed and folded before I head out for the interview).
- WIFI Internet
What I don't need:
- Ghetto neighborhood
- Noisy neighbors.
- Jacuzzi with playboy girls hopping around.

Ballpark, 60-70 bucks. I wanna say I remember something about $68 out the door but I didn't commute so I'm not sure.

Americana is OK. They have a commuter rate in the $60 range.
But I talked to a F/A attendant who seemed pretty sharp about the whole Priceline thing and was getting hotels for not a penny more. And nice hotels too. I have never used the service, but he said it's pretty good.
I guess you have to pick the amenities you want and it picks the hotel. Transportation to the airport would be nice. The last thing you want to worry about 60 minutes before your interview is how to find the Metro or if the taxi will show up on time.
Like BoilerUP said, search for Crytstal City in Arlington. It is about 1 mile or less from the front door of DCA.
