Advice needed
If you had to decide between RAH, ASA, USA Jet(-9 FO), or Colgan direct entry CA, which one would you choose? Delta is my ultimate goal, but feel my lack of 121 time may prevent me from being called, especially since I have never heard from NWA or Spirit despite constant application updates. I'm 29 with 2700TT, ATP, 1000 Turbine, and 800TPIC(part 135). At the moment, I think RAH would give me the best QOL and fastest seniority, and would be the best place to sit for a few years if I had to. If Delta or Continental called, I would be willing to buy out of the agreement, but hate the thought of doing so. ASA has better 2nd year FO pay, but pilots seem to complain about their schedules a bit more. I also think an upcoming TA for RAH in the next year or two would take care of the discrepancy. Colgan would get me alot of TPIC quickly, but most pilots on here say they are treated like dirt, and imagine it's worse being hired directly to the left seat. Flying the -9 would be great, but I'm concerned about how well a 40+ year old airplane can be maintained. Having had an engine failure due to poor maintenance, that is a huge issue in my mind. For me, days off, dollars, and domicile are most important (in that order) in making the decision. ATL is my preferred domicile, and S5 and ASA both take care of that. Sorry if I sound schizo, I just want to make the best educated decision I can about my career.

It's a tossup between USA jet and Colgan. They probably pay about the same. TPIC is golden, but -9 time has gotta look better than RJ.
It's a tough choice. I'd go with whichever gives you the best QOL. I guess if you are looking for the next level ASAP, then the TPIC is best. Otherwise, USAjet might be a better job. |

Do you have a 4 year college degree? If not, that is an immediate disqualifier from Delta. If you have a 4 year degree, I would say go USAjet or Colgan and get some quality time. If you do not have a 4 year degree, I would say go to Republic, because you might have to stay there for the rest of your career.
