Default Comair bidding for NW Airlink

I've been reading news & forums on the net recently, I've been hearing that Comair is bidding for NW Airlink. On yahoo news it stated that Pinnacle Air was also bidding. Does anyone have any info on Comair/NW situation? As from a business perspective it would be cheaper to not contract regionals and to let the furloughed pilots fly the jets. It would mean that they would get paid less, but it's better than nothing. But if anyone has any information please come forward! Thanks!!

Comair is among the 10-15 or so airlines that are bidding on the NWA Airlink flying. Most people think it really is just a ploy to get pinnacle to throw in a bare-bones offer to NWA rather than get another codeshare partner.

And about having contract carriers do the work - you might wanna read up more on the situation rather than make a blanket statement saying its cheaper to keep it inhouse...

How could Comair possibly compete with Pinnacle, I mean, the pay and QOL is so low at Pinnacle, and so much higher at Comair?

Just reduce to something lower and cheaper than 9E. There are lots of guys out there that will fly it.

How can Comair bid for anything in the first place? They're still owned by Delta. Wholly-Owned carriers like Comair can't bid for anything.

Comair isn't going to get any NW airlink trips. Basically, Mesaba due to making hardly any money this year and furloughing some guys are going to try and undercut the pinnacle guys so they can try and get back on their feet. done.

PDT FO,

How do you like working for PDT? Just curious...

I know one of the instructors and he is telling me to shy away...

Thanks for the input
